They just ran a commercial that featured Lundqvist, Crosby, and Ovechkin at the end.

That's the "Jersey Guy". He wears a bunch of jerseys to the games. He had his own ROOT Sports commercial last year.

He buys tons of jerseys from us and we help him customize them. We didn't get the Winter Hawks one, but we've done tons of his other stuff.

In St Louis and going to the blues game tonight, any recommendations?

1) It might be a little late in the day, but try to go to Pappy's Smokehouse.
2) Eat Imos
3) Get some toasted ravioli
4) Eat some gooey butter cake
5) Don't go to East St. Louis
6) Go up in The Arch
7) If you eat at the game, on the lower level, they sell cheese steak sandwiches and seasoned fries that are amazing.
8) The Flying Saucer is down towards Busch and worth a visit if you like beers from around the world.

It's not that hard to figure out what's wrong, they have one defenseman who has a clue in his own end and he's 36 going on 50 and can't move anymore. That puts a poo poo-ton of pressure on their deep corps of AHL fodder forwards, who are trying their best but are nowhere near up to the task. Playing proper defense and executing smooth breakouts in the NHL is hard.

If Scuderi is our "bright spot", poo poo's hosed.

:psyduck:

Letang
Martin
Ehrhoff
Despres
Bortuzzo
Scuderi

When did the All Star game become not something people looked forward to?

Was it after the multiple lockouts when it became apparent that a weekend "for the fans" was laughable after losing whole seasons to bullshit?

Is it because the NHL does everything in its power to crush player charisma so nobody really sees anything but the best hockey robots for the ASG?

Is it because of the dumb format changes and the Guardians crap and all the other non-skills and non-game poo poo that has been shoe-horned in?

I think everyone knows its not worth anything.

It's no longer Conference vs. Conference, or NA vs. World... now it's just a mashup of everyone formed into some "team" for a day or two.

I think they need to make it worth something.

Plus, it's impossible to wear one of the awesome new all star jerseys of your favorite player to the game because of the draft.

Conference vs. Conference... winner gets home ice for the Cup finals!

You don't have to do anything like that to avoid the ASG. Crosby has gone to what, one? You just need to suffer a mysterious ailment in the last game before the break, and then take one game off afterwards.

Taking a skate to the balls does the trick, for all you ASG avoiders out there.

Article in the paper today about how Rogers NHL ratings are down , especially the west coast games.

My favorite part:

How on earth is that reasonable?

Anyways, they're blaming Numeris the firm that tracks the ratings. Although I'm not sure how it would be their fault that Rogers failed to grow their business 20% year over year.

e: forgot the link http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/rogers-plays-blame-game-over-lower-ratings-for-nhl-games/article22731502/

Maybe Rogers will use their buyout and get out from that horrendous contract. Then the NHL can go to somewhere that's a better fit.
