A lot of navy seals & SOAR crew melted in a helicopter crash trying to rescue navy seals getting shot up in a mountain. It was unfortunate. All the fancy avionics and armor in the world can't stop the reality of RPG + shithook = dead people.

It went off a second or two after he dropped that pack next to it. I'm no EOD but he was trying to BIP it with a satchel? The drat thing was probably radio controlled. ADE 651 failed them

I don't know, I'm not even sure what it means besides a vague Han/Greedo reference and an implication to the idiocy of arguing that the cartoonists in any way deserved it, or could be reasonably expected to have known this was a consequence worth considering. If they'd hired a security guard or two after the fire bombing, for example, the body count would just be that much higher. Dudes weren't loving around.

Thus, Wolff's wife and many of his close friends were at the airfield to watch the flight and participate in the post-flight ceremony. McGeehan's wife and two youngest sons watched the flight from the backyard of McGeehan's living quarters, located nearby.

Frosted Flake posted:It seems like a simple enough idea. D30s use 6000 mil circles because Russia. Guess how often we let the afghan Army fire in support of us? Actually it was fun to watch because D30s have a direct fire mode due to their design as a combined howitzer and cold war era anti tank weapon. So we didn't bother teaching math to illiterate afghans when direct was an option and the base had clear views into most subvalleys.
