"Huh? Why would I joke about that?", Yukina says softly with a confused blink, more to herself than as an actual question. With a bow, she then adds, "Thank you for your time.", pulling out her phone as soon as she's out the door to start thumbing out a text. Time for a student council meeting... at least as soon as she can gather the council, anyway.

She looks over her shoulder to her class. Maybe she should bring in some consultants, too...

It's the weekend, baby! And ZA students get to go into the city to hang out! And there's no more popular hangout for students than the Cape and Cowl, a mid-sized pub by the seafront. And welcoming you into the Cape and Cowl is the owner and bartender,

Kerry Vincent.

Kerry is one of the many Eccentrics in the world who didn't end up becoming a hero, though he still puts his powers to good use. His ability to lower his body temperature allows him to serve some of the coldest sodas in the city. A friend of Zenith Academy, he's always happy to serve the heroes of tomorrow. Plus, he's always got his ear to the ground when it comes to the goings-on around the city.

"Well, I suppose you have a point there. And I guess filming it near ZA allows for a lot of consultants. As far as I know, it's a fiction. Stars that young guy....Desmond Price, I think. I don't follow the popular culture."

Desmond Price is a name that might be familiar to you. He's a relatively new actor who got his start in the Shining Light trilogy. Those movies weren't anything special, your typical young adult dystopia fiction, but it turned Price into a heartthrob idol.

Of course, she hated all the changes the director had made, especially with the ending (typical Hollywood happy ending, when it was supposed to be depressing, I mean seriously...[blog post continues for multiple pages]) but Desmond had done an excellent job playing her favorite character.

"Uh, yeah, we should go. I mean, an actor like that filming in public, sounds like something someone might want to use to cause some chaos." She nods to herself, proud of her totally believable excuse.

Film Shoot
Near Lombard Street

You're able to follow a crowd of people to where the shoot is going on, at a cordoned-off section of road down the way from Lombard Street.

If you can make your way through the throng of people around the barriers set up, you'll see equipment set up all around, with actors and crew milling about. It seems as if they're taking a break in between takes. On the sidelines, you can see several Eccentrics in crew shirts practicing with their powers. One is causing small explosions, and the other is levitating a stuntman. Like Yukina said, many Eccentrics who did not end up becoming heroes found a reasonable amount of success doing special effects for Hollywood productions, seeing common use due to their lower price compared to similar CG effects. Nearby, an older man is going over fight choreography with another stunt person, when he notices your group. Or at least, one person in it.

"Just one minute." He walks over to the barrier with a hand behind his back. "Emi? Is that you? I knew you were going to school here, but I didn't think I'd run into you here!"

Emi would of course recognize the man as her teacher, Oreki Tanaka.

Walking up is a man who might be recognized as the director Sebastian Albert. People familiar with his work would know that he got his start as a teenage actor in the horror comedy Breakfast Cult and directed his first movie at age 25. Mainly a director of genre pieces such as The Hero Rupert and the Demon King's Castle and Rebel Sun, he's developed a small cult following.

"Taking cues from the fine Japanese superhero tradition! Practical effects whenever possible! It's more real to the audience and it helps the actors react to the world around them better! So, Oreki, you know these kids?"

"This is a student of mine, Emi, and these are her friends. They're students at Zenith Academy out on the bay."

"It's perfectly fine, it's perfectly fine. Always good to meet a fan." Sebastian manages to pull his hand away from Toon's long enough to sign the DVD. "As for the movie, we're doing an adaptation of a pre-Eccentric story from the 1970s called Kamen Rider. A real classic never appreciated here in America!"

"I'm ready to shoot, Sebastian!"

Oh, who was that? Why it's....

Desmond Price coming out of his trailer in costume. Well, not Kamen Rider costume. They use a stuntman for that.

"We'll start in a minute, Desmond! Hey kids, we're about to start shooting, but feel free to stick around and watch."

And with that, Sebastian walks over to the camera rig, Tanaka following behind after bowing to you.

"Okay, this is the pre-transformation fight scene! Cameras.....action!"

True to Sebastian's words, it is most certainly a fight scene between Desmond and a few enemy henchmen. The fight choreography is fluid, but not overly flashy and is most certainly Tanaka's style. The crowd around is enraptured. I guess it is true that people still like controlled action in this age of true heroics.

The shoot is cut short, however, when three masked men storm their way onto the set and start shooting wildly into the air, causing the crowd to disperse.

"Alright, everyone, just be cool! This is a hostage situation!"

Oh poo poo, it looks like three criminals have taken the entire set hostage! You guys gotta do something!
