I'm not sure how I feel about it! I wouldn't be useful until it's my turn again is the only issue I'm having, but if you guys feel like you can cover stuff on your own then I'm fine with failing it. Also, one of those ships has a lot of resources, so keep 'em safe.

Well, your cards are always useful for Skil Checks if they're positive, and if you have Repairs they can be useful to fix things via you getting XOed if they get broken. Hypothetically speaking, if you were going to play cards into the check (to save the rest of your hand and Morale), would you need much help from the rest of us?

While you aren't allowed to claim specifically what you play into a skill check, you're allowed to (but certainly not required to!) say whether you played a lot or a little into the check. See the last page of the Official FAQ for more details.
