why would she ask if we had a card if we couldn't play it?
|
# ? Jan 22, 2015 10:26 |

She was asking to see if it was worth hitting FTL - at the space we're on, we have to roll to risk 1 Population in order to Jump. Whereas, if we get one more Crisis with Jump Prep, we automatically jump away without risking Population or having to activate FTL. You playing a Strat Plan now would be invalid as no one has activated FTL yet, making your play technically a preload/Conditional Order, which should always be sent in PMs. An example CO would be "If FTL is activated and I have a Strategic Planning card in my hand, I will play it".

Brony Hunter posted:Are we that urgent to risk jumping? XOing Adama or Boomer to clear those Raiders will likely make us safe until Auto Jump. What does Adama have to do, exactly? XOing me to take out raiders is pointless. One way or the other, we're about to jump. The only other even remotely useful thing I can think of is XOing Roslin to draw Quorum cards. And all this is assuming Tigh even has an XO. This is why I asked about the strat plan, because we're at full pop, and risking that one to get this show on the road is worthwhile. Why should I maybe shoot at a couple if raiders when we can IMMEDIATELY get rid of them, and a basestar, and a heavy? There's no saying that the next crisis will be jump prep. That's a dangerous assumption, and even if we ht the button, and there's prep anyway, we just have more prep for the next jump,

That's a fair call. It's probably a result of my own rather conservative playing style - I tend to dislike risking Pop early game unless DRADIS is a clusterfrak. Jumping now is certainly not a bad move.

Tigh reveals: You are a Cylon – Can Send a Character to the Brig. Chief is sent to the Brig! Nexal, you'll need to discard 4 cards; it's discarding down to 3 cards, not discarding 3 cards. Sorry! (You may as well post them here, also, as discards are public.) Tigh is sent to the Resurrection Ship and draws a Super Crisis card.

No crisis on Cylon turns. Turn 2.2: President Roslin (Brony Hunter) is the Current Player. President Roslin (Brony Hunter) draws 3 POL, 2 LEA, then shuffles the LEA deck.

Well, I guess is my biggest issue being in here that I can only play 1 card for checks? Because it's not like I have a super full hand anyway.
|
# ? Jan 22, 2015 19:13 |

Yeah, whilst you're in jail you can't move anywhere and you only get to play 1 card in to Skill Checks. You can, however, still play cards like XOs. You'll also get a refreshed hand on your next turn anyway, and I don't like the idea of our Repairman being stuck in prison, in case the ship starts blowing up.

I...can't do a lot other than hit the Quorum anyway. I could XO someone, but I'd rather dig for Pardon Prisoner whilst I still have the cards to burn, if that makes sense. It'd probably be more efficient than wasting cards on the Skill Check to free you, but I'm happy to leave it up to everyone to discuss before locking anything in.

Sorry, Chief, no luck this time I have Quorum cards that are potentially useful if I get an XO, but nothing to get you out of the Brig yet. Our Crisis is: Admiral Grilled 9 POL LEA: Current Player Chooses: Pass: No Effect; Fail: -1 Morale, and the Admiral discards 2 Skill Cards OR -1 Morale. Activate Raiders, Prepare for Jump ##Take the OR, let's save some cards.

Morale decreases by 1 to 8. Activate Raiders: The first raider in sector 5 fires at an unmanned viper: 2 - miss. The second raider in sector 5 fires at an unmanned viper: 1 - miss. The Fleet jumps! Destinations sent to Admiral Adama.
