THE iDOLM@STER is a rhythm game series, multimedia franchise, and license to print money brought to you by Bandai Namco. Its empire spans a full dozen video games (with extensive DLC offerings), two previous anime series and a movie, more than 100 CD releases and a host of printed media earning over 10 billion yen annually. The marketing juggernaut's exclusivity deal with Microsoft is sometimes credited with single-handedly propping up the Xbox 360 console in the otherwise hostile Japanese market.

In every incarnation, Idolmaster follows an underdog idol agency, where a varied cast of inexperienced girls work to become professional idols. Cinderella Girls is based on the franchise's first notable mobile game, which broke from tradition by expanding the cast to "over 100 girls" in a trading-card-style battle game. A-1 Pictures returns after animating 2011's Idolmaster series and the 2014 theatrical movie. Takao Noriko, formerly Series Production Director, steps up to Director in place of the previous installments' Nishigori Atsushi.

Cinderella Girls is a bold challenge to the age-old wisdom that "you can't please everyone." Do you like music? Idolmaster has music! Do you like moe? It's got moe! Do you like giant robots? At least one of these girls is in fact a giant robot! Action, drama, romance! That's right, Idolmaster has something for literally everyone!

Idolmaster is like Da Vinci's angel at the Baptism of Christ. Miura looks on the beauty this apprentice has made and snaps his brushes, knowing he will never create such art. Continuing is futile.

Polsy posted:

I'm assuming the idols who appeared but didn't say anything don't have VAs in the game either, considering the others got to say one, or if they were lucky even two lines.
That's mostly true. Previously, characters only got an official voice actress when they got popular enough for a real CD release. Out of 200 idols only 35 of them were voiced until now, which for obvious reasons includes the entire main cast and most of the other girls popular enough to be recurring characters*. But actually Chie and Haruna, who briefly appeared the "Blue Napoleon" unit seen in this episode, didn't have voice actresses until now either. So either the anime staff are filling things out with some unknown actresses or those two already have CDs in the pipeline.

*For some reason Sakurai Momoka doesn't have a CD or a known voice actress, but appears in all the promotional material as one of the recurring supporting characters.

Edit: on the topic of voice actresses it's also worth noting that one of the few idols with a really notable voice actress is Kanzaki Ranko, voiced by famous chuunibyou specialist Uchida Maaya

And in a coincidental runner-up, Anastasia is voiced by the fluent-in-Russian Uesaka Sumire, known for playing Girls und Panzer's Nonna and... Dekomori Sanae.
