It should be more than obvious that Adicolor Yellow is a concept trailer for a re-imagining of Short Circuit (notice the 5 robots, where one is "special," but it's number 4 instead of number 5). So basically Chappie is a Short Circuit remake (at the end of the trailer he says "I am alive"), with a South African accented Number 5 named Chappie. (There also appear to be Ed 209 police robots.) I think it's a bit of a stretch to predict that Anderson Cooper will be reporting on actual robot cops as early as 2016. Anyway, if this follows the typical Neill Blomkamp formula, it will depict human evil and depravity running rampant amongst ever advancing technology, but will have a happy ending showing that there is hope for humanity after all. Being a teenager of the 80's, I'll probably go see it.

I forgot about this from 2005: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCS0hNyJf6k It's a bit longer, and has a student film quality vibe to it. It doesn't really match the other Blomkamp stuff as it feels like an IFC or Adult Swim produced comedy. Yes that is in fact Lynda Carter. The robot is basically a goon in this one.
