The first onscreen black character in Star Wars was a smooth-talking ladies' man who dresses like a pimp, gambled his way into a gig as a union boss, and ultimately ends up betraying his white friends to make a sweetheart deal with the only other black character in the movies. He changes his mind only when he finds out he won't get to keep the pretty white woman in the city under his "supervision." Then he quits his job without notice and flees in a vehicle stolen from government impound. He's last seen hanging out with a group of criminals plotting an armed robbery meant to deprive a legitimate businessman/job creator of his rightful property. Oh yeah, and now even the clothes he's wearing are stolen.
