I'm curious why you're nominating Northcutt for overhyped/underperformed. I totally get the first half but even if it was against a garbage opponent, he certainly performed very well in his debut.

He's got one more fight to poo poo the bed, but he doesn't seem to quite fit the spirit of the rule to me. McGregor also kind of feels weird since he was riding a huge wave of hype and success coming into the year, but it's also the year he finally beat a very top-end fighter in his division and earned a belt so I get it.

E: add middleweight to best division, I feel like there's been a lot of shakeup in the top 5 with Rockhold and Romero getting big wins/Lyoto's skid. and that's always fun.

It's just the hype. He beat a top-60 opponent who slipped in the ring and he is now getting treated as if he's the second coming. Whatever the expectations are, he's gotten a stunning amount of press and hype behind him.
