I just emailed them to find out about my Trade Pro reg date. Got this in the auto reply: "Comic-Con Trade Professional registration will occur later this spring. If you are a Trade Professional and are NOT DUE, watch your email for more information."' edit: Actual reply: quote:no, trade professional registration has not yet occurred; you did not miss anything! We anticipate that it will open later this month. Beast of Bourbon fucked around with this message at 18:41 on Mar 18, 2015 |

I just got mine, and a guest badge for a friend as well. No hassle at all. Weird how out of the blue it was, but I'll take it.

I'm worried about putting all my eggs in one basket. If all my choices are downtown hotels and I don't get any, I'm out of luck. Should I pick four downtown and two elsewhere hotels?

Should I pick four downtown and two elsewhere hotels? That is probably wise. The shuttle service is pretty spectacular, so not being downtown isn't much of an imposition at all.

Outside of the Marriot, what are the other hotels that are really drat close I should aim for?

The omni is the worst hotel in the history of hotels. only the dumbest, richest idiots in the world would even consider staying there. smart, handsome con goers know to avoid it at all costs. please work please work please work

The Westgate is 7 blocks away and very nice. A little foofy in its decor but the staff are very nice.

Remind me again, what does Gaslamp mean in terms of distance away from the convention site?
# ? Mar 22, 2015 06:43 |

Close enough to walk.
# ? Mar 22, 2015 07:22 |
Yeah it's pretty much the whole district next to it, every street with a letter I guess?

The PDF lists the distance from each hotel to the convention center. Basically anything a mile and under is walk-able (though if you're in cumbersome cosplay the shuttle is an option).

Ew, it got congested this year. Got through in about 30 seconds, but it took a minute for the form to load.
# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:02 |
Yeah, it was super congested. Also they had one list rather than preference choices which threw me for a loop.

3 minutes, too drat slow
# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:03 |

Took 4 minutes on my end. gently caress.

# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:04 |

Yeah, the lag and the list made it slow. That list selection process was terrible. 3 min for me as well.

# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:04 |

And now we wait... UGH so frightened. I just want to be near the con without using the drat shuttle. Hoping to load up with fellow goons like I did the last time around just to make things a little cheaper. It was fun and safe, no one was a creep or a serial killer.
# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:05 |
Same entry time as others... 4 min. Ugh.
# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:06 |
Just a little over 3 minutes for me as it took a minute for the page to load. I put four downtowns, one airport and one Mission Valley, and told them to put me on any that had a shuttle if those weren't available. At least we should hear back within the next couple days.

If you don't get one of these, just do Coronado island. Rooms ALWAYS open up later, the hotel is full of the larger stars, and you just have to walk or take the free bus down to the ferry and you're right there. And it has an awesome beach, etc. It's much better than anything on the shuttle route.
# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:07 |
My actual input time was about the same as last year at around a minute, minute-and-a-half. I wouldn't worry too much about it being slow to load since it was the same for everyone.
# ? Mar 24, 2015 17:08 |
The first time the form loaded there was a hotel selection tab but I couldn't actually select any of the hotels, just look at them. Took me a whole minute to realize I wasn't just crazy and needed to reload the page. gently caress.

This form was horrible. I was helping my parents through it, and not having checkboxes or something for the hotels is the worst. E: And just realized this was a bug. I had to resend my forms even though they warned against it. Welp, Hope I get the Embassy Suites at least. Neraren fucked around with this message at 17:13 on Mar 24, 2015 |
