XWA needs new management. The show started 40 minutes late and then Paul London took about 8 minutes to get to the ring. JT Dunn vs. London (winner gets a title match tonight) was a draw. What the gently caress. Just book a threeway from the start and have an opener with a hot finish. Spirit Squad d. Hearthrobs. This was an average Raw tag match. There was an awful sequence where the Heartthrobs got crossed up and wrestled each other with the softest and least convincing moves I've ever seen. Biff Busick d. Trevor Lee. It was good. Trevor kept stalling to get heat which was really not the thing to do tonight. Ciampa(c) d. London & Dunn. A well planned triple threat match. Lots of 3 man sequences instead of 1 guy just hanging in the corner for no reason. AJ Styles d. Jason Blade. Very good. Crowd went crazy for every Styles Clash tease. He eventually got it without incident. NOBODY won the Xtreme Rumble. Special appearances by Carlito and Snitsky. Lots of teams in the match. Team Tremendous and Kimber Lee & Cherry Bomb were the standouts. Eliminations felt slow but Hanson dominated. Uhaa Nation wasn't there. You can imagine my reaction when #30 was Mike Bennett instead. It only got worse. Biff was eliminated and the crowd died. Hanson and a local guy were the last two. Bennett, Taven, Brutal Bob, and a former ring announcer ran in and there was no finish. Biff and Team Tremendous tried to fight them off and failed. The XWA booker ran in to put an end to this chicanery. Former ring announcer complained about The Kingdom being booked for the Rumble and not real matches. This is where you ignore Hanson blowing a free title match by not winning the loving Rumble. Former ring announcer complained about some poo poo nobody cares abut from 2005 then smashed a bottle over the booker's head. I will not be going to Cranston on March ~22nd. e: The ring announcer was Bobby Cruise. So they bet heavily on the crowd caring about ROH. I'm looking forward to what SHIMMER can pull out of their hats for Wrestlemania weekend. It's West Coast, so who is even available isn't clear yet. I was hoping this was going to be the angle to get Hudson Envy on one of the shows, but she had to go and do some time with STARDOM. Basically I think only Candice is announced so far, Melissa and Nicole Savoy live fairly close and are no brainers. Who else is running shows in the area? It's a great example of a bad finish killing a card. "Nobody won. Come back in 2 months" was astonishingly dumb. They had a crowd with lots of AJ fans and kids and blew it with the stupid ending. They were smart enough to realize Biff and Team Tremendous were the top babyfaces but it's still terrible. Anyone clamoring for Bennett vs. Busick saw it in Providence 3 weeks ago. e: Uhaa wrestled in North Carolina tonight. PWX advertising goes back to at least December 29th, so gently caress XWA. Former WWE stars nobody wanted to see having one-off matches at random indie shows are about the saddest thing ever. No one wants to see Snitzky, he probably wasn't involved in any kind of story, and they probably paid a whole lot of money for the novelty of saying "Former WWE Superstar" on the posters.

My guess would be two out of the Inner City Machine Guns, African American Wolves, or Best Friends. Candice and Joey are in England on the same tour as Johnny Gargano and Chris Sabin, so none of them will be at this particular show. ACH is one of the only guys that I don't know the status of re: working indies outside of ROH, but he wasn't given any goodbye messages like Cole and O'Reilly were after Black Cole Sun so my assumption is he can still work PWG. The Addiction is also an option if PWG wants to actually put them over for a change, instead of losing title shots or to the Bucks like they have in every show since they've come back. From what very little I've seen of Monster Mafia, I bet putting them in a match with Ricochet and Swann in front of the Reseda crowd would be a lot of fun. I know absolutely nothing about the Beaver Boys. e: My other fantasy booking, since we have 5 matches booked and PWG typically runs 8 in a show, is Monster Mafia vs. African American Wolves and a Ricochet vs. Matt Sydal singles match. Wow, that XWA show sounds like a train wreck. A lot of people complaining about them on Twitter for hiring a video crew to tape their shows and then not releasing them but if that's the product they put on, uhhhh...I'd rather not? Good on them for drawing but I don't see how any of that is supposed to entice anyone to come back. Updated ISW card for 2/28, btw. The RAW before the rumble up until the RAW after WM are pretty much the only ones worth watching all year, the rest might as well be the "Off season" of the WWE because nothing loving happens. I can see why people want to boycott RAW, I read the open letter about it destroying the Wrestling industry if the very top suffers and disgusts people, but the better time to do it would probably be Summerslam
