what makes sense to me is doin some poo poo where each week we pair people and they schedule their game whenever they can play and record video commentary added afterwards and then we can post a link to vids at the end of each week e: that is rather than doing a live stream just to make sure people who have poo poo can still play

The old mtgoon league used Apprentice originally then Magic Workstation. To coordinate you guys can use #mtgoon on synirc -- that's what it was there for originally.

The downside to that is that cards have to be implemented individually, so the card pool isn't 100% complete. I'm pretty sure everything Legacy-relevant is in there, but if someone finds a weird fringe card that isn't implemented yet that they want to play with they should say so, so that I or some other Java-competent Goon can patch it in.

That's true but we're not playing for a real prize and really the point here is to get some good games and funny commentary, cross post them to the magic threads, and get some people playing legacy. It's more fun for the spectators if they know our decklists ahead of time so they can know our outs, think about our wacky tech, all that good stuff.
