My main goal here is to get some quality play, varied decklists, and some funny commentary together and make a cool legacy series. So how would this work exactly? We sign up and someone lets us know who we're paired against and we just try to work out our schedules to play that person in a decent amount of time? I ran a couple goon leagues for different street fighter games a few years ago and that's what we basically did, and put a time limit on how long someone had to play before they got DQ'd. I have a weird inconvenient schedule but I'll sign up for the time being: 4x Deathrite Shaman 4x Knight of the Reliquary 4x Mother of Runes 3x Stoneforge Mystic 3x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben 2x Spirit of the Labyrinth 1x Gaddock Teeg 1x Scavenging Ooze 1x Quasali Pridemage 3x Abrupt Decay 3x Swords to Plowshares 4x Green Sun's Zenith 1x Umezawa's Jitte 1x Sword of Fire and Ice 1x Batterskull 1x Sylvan Library 4x Wasteland 4x Windswept Heath 3x Verdant Catacombs 2x Cavern of Souls 2x Savannah 1x Scrubland 1x Bayou 1x Karakas 1x Bojuka Bog 1x Horizon Canopy 1x Dryad Arbor 1x Forest 1x Marsh Flats SB: 2x Containment Priest 2x Zealous Persecution 3x Thoughtseize 1x Sword of Light and Shadow 2x Oblivion Ring 1x Nihil Spellbomb 2x Ethersworn Canonist 1x Choke 1x Cataclysm Fingers McLongDong fucked around with this message at 01:48 on Jan 21, 2015 |

They're actually really really low, native Java apps aren't very taxing on a computer, and the whole thing being open-sourced is encouraging a lot of people to build it up and keep performance low, since they know one of MTGO's biggest barriers is having such high requirements. Actually, now that you mention it... Not every card has been fully implemented on XMage The full list is here http://ct-magefree.rhcloud.com/stats, you should probably check it to make sure that your decklist will actually work the way you think it will.

I think the best way to run this would be to have one round per week. After pairings go up, the two payers coordinate a time between themselves. This is probably the best way to work around everyone's schedules. We could use IRC and google docs to communicate. Once a time slot is chosen for a specific match it gets posted on the Google doc and then anyone interested in streaming or commentating on it can do so.

A very small number, kind of by definition the most played cards are going to be implemented first. It's more an issue if you're running some insane brew with something like Magus of the Moat.

yeah that is how i'm thinkin about it, i'll get week one pairings after i close registration and then people can coordinate however (pm, irc, etc) and play/record their games http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/ that seems like a decent way to get recordings to youtube or to useful files that we can ship to whoever wants to do the commentary speaking of which who else besides BAFH is in on commentary e: i'm going to hold off on week 1's pairings until everyone posts their list for the sake of equal access to info or whatnot and we can base the start of week around that black potus fucked around with this message at 16:34 on Jan 20, 2015 |

I could see trying to do some commentary if needed. Can we make sure to do full brackets for those with negative records so we all at least get paired up for the full event? It'd be less fun to only get a few matches before being dropped from the whole deal.
