They both derive from the French word "beau" which means "beautiful" or some poo poo. Which has been used in the south for a long rear end time especially in Louisiana which is basically French. Since there is a lot of black people in the South it founds its way into hip-hop slang. Personally I think the French are cowardly scum and call my girlfriend "Freedom Woman".
