I think it was this site that pointed out in an article/feature from the past that such a feat will forever label George Lucas as an unsolvable mystery for the ages. Also, Willow is 1000x a better movie about little people in a fantasy setting than Peter Jackson's poo poo rear end hobbit movies.

George Lucas can have good base ideas but he needs some people with talent to refine them into something interesting and neat while not letting him have his over-the-top retarded ideas. imo that's part of why the prequel trilogy was so lovely, there was no one there to buffer between George Lucas idea land and basic understanding of what humans find entertaining and relatable.

If GRRM could actually be bothered to put his vision to paper we'd probably wish he wouldn't, so he's pretty much on par with Lucas in that sense. Also both of them managed to make a pretty fair trilogy in spite of themselves and kept plowing on no matter how lovely it got for a few more installments.
