Hey guys here are two things you're never gonna believe: Beau Bennett got hurt, and Pittsburgh got called for too much man

People are starting to boo/hate Crosby now because he tries making plays instead of scoring 50 goals

I really do think Crosby should shoot a little more often and make pretty passes to guys who aren't good shooters a little less often, though.

The Penguins must lead the league in too much man penalties, right? And there's not really any explanation for it but bad coaching, right?

I really have no idea why the Pens trade Goc for Lapierre.

Because Rutherford flipped out after Rinaldo's hatchet job on Letang. As I understand the logic having a goon in the lineup will scare assholes like Rinaldo away from laying cheap shots on the Penguins' injury prone stars, and thus is more valuable than having a hockey player in the lineup.

Yeah I think taking a shoulder to the chin from your team mate (this time) or getting leg locked by an opposing player going down (last injury) are things that would be dangerous for most players, just that poo poo happens to Beau all the time

It's possible that these kinds of things happen to every hockey player all the time but Bennett continually gets injured from them, isn't it?

Like, I have a knack for stubbing my toes on absolutely everything, so I usually wear shoes even around the house, because I'm just kind of clumsy. It's possible Bennett just has a clumsy knack for getting tied up in bad spots or something.

What I'm poorly trying to say is that the more times a guy rolls snakeeyes, the more you have to suspect it might not just be dumb luck.

Isn't it supposed to be called African American history month?

Also I'd just like to say how much I appreciate TV networks playing their little jingle just before going to commercial, it lets me know exactly when to turn the game off so I never have to see or hear a single second of a commercial

Everyone on earth knows what Michel Therrien's all about, right? If you have a lazy bad team he's the perfect guy to whip them into shape. He also cannot resist turtling to protect a lead, or turtling to protect a tie right from the opening faceoff, or turtling to protect a one goal deficit just in case the other team accidentally scores on itself. He's a known quantity, is what I'm saying.

I'm also saying he's been in Montreal a few years now so his poo poo has run its course and sometime this month is the correct time to fire him.

I said it in Friday's GDT, the Penguins do this thing about twice a year where they completely forget how to score for two weeks. You may recall the 2013 conference finals for instance. They'll eventually go "oh yeah, THAT'S how you do it!"

Also they did win Friday when it appeared right up to near the end they were never going to score, so.

The Penguins were once very good at embellishing, to the point other fans bitched about it pretty much nonstop, but it seems like they've slowly lost that skill over the years. Was that a thing Therien teaches?

I'm getting convinced that the Penguins' nonstop problems with breakouts and getting the puck through the neutral zone without committing hilarious turnovers mostly just boil down to, they're just slow. I can't remember the last Penguins game I saw where various Penguins weren't going after a loose puck and some opponent was skating around them and beating them to it. Crosby and Malkin are fast of course, and Bennett is fast when he's in the lineup. But they have several guys (Adams, Scuderi, Martin, Sill) that are so slow it looks like they're skating underwater, and too many guys with just 'meh' speed or less. They're not lazy, they win a lot of puck battles, but they have trouble moving the puck around the ice because if the pass is even a couple inches off target an opponent gets to the puck first just about every time.
