A physics based puzzle game currently in alpha stage.
Super cheap so no reason not to buy this game! Also green light voted :dance:

The Game

Basically the game revolves around constructing a machine to complete and objective usually destroy a house or windmill or drive your machine towards a given objective. The graphics add a nice stylized touch to this game making it feel like building a toy castle with tiny archers and knights and little suicidal sheep. You are able to complete objectives in any number of ways from just driving into some thing or building a catapult to throw flaming balls towards the objective killing everything in its path. Some one even managed to construct a bomber and drop about 10 bombs onto the little nights causing utter destruction.

Be warned though your engine is made of wood and might not last long if you don't figure out where your center of gravity is or put enough support into your machine to not make it blow into pieces in front of your eyes. It takes a while to figure out what each part of the blocks and joints and weapons all do. I even tried to copy a medieval catapult and it worked perfectly once constructed. The physics engine is some thing to be proud of and adds a lot of fun to the game.

Seconding this. I can make my vehicles drive straight but doing anything else makes it fly apart and rip off its own wheels.

It feels slightly cheesy to do it this way but you can produce turning without using any of the hinges or steering mechanisms.

Stick two wheels on on each corner of your base and then rebind the interior wheels (using the wrench icon) so that they rotate in opposite directions when you press turn keys. You can change the speed of turning by changing the wheel's rotation rate.

My favorite way to make vehicles steer is to put sideways wheels on the front that can turn the front end. I then assign those wheels to separate keys. I find that this lets you turn the vehicle much sharper than if you had put the steering joints on side wheels like a car.

It looks a little silly, but it gives the most control.

Edit: Here's an example on my Crossbow vehicle

I'm still working on it myself but put the steering hinges or whatever they are called on the front wheels only and don't turn them too far, as they can turn enough that the wheel slams into the base of your axle.

I can't get my vehicles to turn sharp enough with this method though. It's a real pain in the rear end.

Steering hinges don't do what they sound like they should do. Use them to segment larger machines instead of attaching them directly to wheels. For easy/safe turning on smaller machines just set different keys to "forward" on your left and right wheels!

This is even more amazing when you realize that Stage 2 both landed upright and killed a sheep on the way down.

You need to find the steering part and fit a wheel to it some how, it took me a while to figure out too :D

Played through the existing content today and made only 2 somewhat remarkable things. First one is just a tallest & widest wall of cannons and the second one is a catapult with automatic sawblade-minions.

This is a great game, you can throw bombs at sheep. And throw sheep at other sheep.

And a link to the bsg if you want to try it out for yourself.

Anyone got a good way to go forward/backward with a flying machine? Also a way to keep my bombing bay from exploding?

Attach a propeller(the one you hit O for) or two to one of the steering joints going forward and backwards. Voila.

Literally the easiest way is to use the "tank tread" style with 4 wheels on each axle

||----||
||----||

The inner wheels on each axle work as normal. But if you rebind the outer wheels, you make a very maneuvrable driving base. This way, the outer wheels on each side are reversed. eg: hitting "left" will make the outer wheels on the left side reverse, hitting right makes them go forward. In effect, turning you left/right. Do the same on the right side so that each wheel goes forward when you hit left, backwards when hit right.

You now have a speedy, maneuvrable tank base. Here's the base of it as a bsg

Yeah, this thing is sort of steerable:

It also kills any sheep it crashes on.

'R'. There's a command list thing if you click the mouse icon, fourth from right at the top. Not a lot in there though.

The other useful one is F for flipping the direction of a thing, i.e. it will make things spin counterclockwise if they were originally spinning clockwise.

Springs and braces have to be click-dragged to place. And drop your vehicle to the floor is really handy if you dont want it smashing to tiny bits when you start.

While fiddling about I managed to make a simple ram

Naturally, I upscaled it

Sadly, it's pretty useless against anything except the cottage and windmill.

I also made a 'bomber'

Well, at least it works. Kinda

This is a little thing I used to pass the last level

And this little beauty is the Slice-n-Dice 2000

You use a pivot to hold the arm of the catapult up, with a holder and bomb/flaming ball on one side, and several cannons pointing upwards on the other. Fire the cannons, and if the catapult arm doesn't break, then the bomb/ball goes flying.
