I'm just saying that making snap judgments about someone based on their appearance is lovely. If a black guy comes in do you immediately point to Storm or something? Like oh, you look like this person so you must be looking for this book. I'm not saying recommending Batgirl makes you lovely, as it is an enjoyable book, but assuming that someone wants it just because they are a girl does.

A retailer making assumptions that a new customer may want a specific book based off the demographics they experience at their store, offered in a polite and friendly manner? That monster.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to say that the person who posted that should have been offended, as it obviously worked out in her case. I'm honestly surprised that you guys can't see how this would be offensive.
Either way I'm done posting about it, carry on please.

EDIT: Yeah that would have been a better example.

I'm just foolin' dude, I didn't want to make a big deal with it. I do agree with you for the most part though. I try to wait until they say what they're looking for before offering up recommendations.

But Batgirl and Ms Marvel are my go-to books for women in the store looking for female lead books.

They're also doing a good thing and copying the Marvel method of having proper creative retreats but going one forward and actually inviting women and not using dumb excuses to hire the same handful of old writers over and over again.

This begs the question would you rather have Perlmutter and his known and unknown rumors about the way he runs Marvel as your head or whoever the head at DC is running the show for your company?

Interview with Alisa Kwitney on Convergence:Batgirl

The one story I was most looking forward to is actually the one I'm least enthused by the interview. I mean, wheeling out the Steph & Tim relationship again? Seriously? They both moved on from that. Tim & Cass were clearly, if not actually getting together, moving in that direction in Gates of Gotham, hell Daimon Scott noted that tension back when he was doing art for their solo books. It feels like a regression of all three characters.

I get Steph is the headliner, but dammit could they maybe make the romance subplot something that's not revolving around the lead for once?

I'll still buy it, though.

It all comes out right in the end.
I think people read way too much into the Tim and Cass stuff in Gates of Gotham. I never got the impression that they were heading toward romance.

I was kind of hoping for more of a cool ensemble adventure and a little less "STEPH AND HER AMAZING FRIENDS," but I guess Steph is the one that headlines nowadays and Cass is the sidekick. It still sounds mostly good to me, and I just want to see these characters interact one last time.

Maybe you don't see it (after all it was mainly subtext), but Steph and Tim had closed off their own romantic relationship at roughly the same time.

And I suppose I'm slightly more sensitive on the Cass front since she still hasn't made a New 52 debut outside of an alternate future one-shot, so her getting marginalised is that much worse.

As for seeing them one last time...well, Gates of Gotham and The Lesson were good sendoffs for Cass/Tim & Steph respectively, so this had better be good. I'd rather they ended on a high note than gently caress it up with a godawful continuation (see also: Avengers Academy & everything that happened to them after their book ended, Spider-Girl in Spider-Verse).

Cass and Tim always felt so much more like siblings to me. On the other hand I really thought Tim and Steph were pretty done by the end of the old continuity.

Clearly Cass/Steph is the answer

Yes. Dick, Jason, Cass, and Tim after Identity Crisis are adopted by Bruce. Damian is too, sorta. Steph and Barbara are the only ones who aren't legally his children.

I doubt Harley and Deadshot will be off the team. Deadshot is basically as much associated with the Squad as Waller and they seem to like having Harley on the team enough to include her in the movies for it.

But fighting ISIS...yeesh, it's been a while since DC has been so blatantly ignorant about inserting real life hot topics into comics.

Yeah, wasn't the very first arc in the original series by Ostrander about the squad going into one of the DC middle east country analogues (Quraq or Kahndaq)? Don't any of those countries still exist in DC?

e: Or maybe now is just the right time to declaratively use her, because that name association is probably not going away in the foreseeable future on it's own.

ee: Though the all capping of the name does infer the acronym. Making the organization a thing in the DCU DEFINITELY fucks the character over.

Relative to how he looked in the New 52 book or relative to the Pre-flashpoint Thawne/Zolomon RFs?

edit: also I have no clue how you can put Black Hand in the Suicide Squad. The Squad's usual motivation is "if you don't do it we kill you" and Black Hand's superpower is being dead. I guess Waller might know how to bring people back to life and is leveraging that against BH or something. It's a weird crew no matter how you look at it.

On the funny side, she made a way, WAY better anti-justice league team with these guys than the JLA ever was.
