Yeah, this makes sense. I’ll just keep an eye out. Also I finished the third season. I’ll miss you, Chihayafuru, but I’ll have to stay strong and wait as long as it takes. The best moment was clearly Arata writing a comment on a livestream.

Chihayafuru Chapter 229 is here! That feeling (huge match spoilers!) of being frustrated for so long, working so hard, and then finally achieving a precious goal that you set for yourself! Even if it ends up being the only game out of the five that Chihaya wins, I'm still so happy for her.

Amusingly enough while nyaa is also blocked as noted, the adult section is still accessible since it uses a third-level domain (i.e., xxx.nyaa.com (it's not actually xxx or a .com TLD but I'd prefer not to get probed for linking to porn or pirated media)). I guess Verizon blocked the domain name for nyaa but neglected to use a wildcard to also block the subdomains.

So Verizon isn't actually blocking mangadex and nyaa specifically, but rather they're blocking the DDOS protection provider that both of those sites use because it's a shady russian company that also provides DDOS protection services to a bunch of scam and virus and *insert illegal activity here* sites across the internet. It sucks, but any VPN bypasses the issue including free ones. Disclaimer, if a service is free then you(r data) is the product, but if you just want to view mangadex and not pay for a VPN . . . Mentat Radnor posted:Opera browser has a built-in free VPN that is allowing me to read Mangadex even though Verizon is blocking it.

Actually I think Apple's private relay feature gets around it too. I can load mangadex on my iPhone and iPad but it doesn't load on my Mac mini running Big Sur (which doesn't feature private relay).
