But the dwarves actually fought back against their oppressors instead of just letting themselves be mass murdered with no real resistance and then moving away and oppressing some other race. Like if the dwarves just stood there dumbfounded while the dragon burned them all up, and then the survivors went on to hobbitown or whatever and just went apeshit on the hobbits, made them prisoners inside their own country, treated them like animals, etc., that would be a much more accurate depiction of Our Greatest Allies In The Middle East.
