I think he meant that you said you would push it back to 9 PM ET, and then you changed it from 9 PM to 8 PM.

No, that's just how it is. Players can not be added directly to your DL slot from free agency, as you must first add the player to an open bench slot http://games.espn.go.com/flb/resources/help/content?name=additional-notes
