Well, fuck. Really?
Viktor

"What, you think I WANT to kill Imperial citizens? We hold them off while they load, or did you forget our guns have a stun setting?" To emphasize this, Viktor sets his gun to stun mode with a low whine. "Blue bolts only, ladies! We're thieves, not murderers! We ARE in the wrong here and I don't want any extra blood on our hands here!" Viktor turns in time to see Saveth leaving and curses. Of course, the best shot would decide he should be flying Viktor's ship rather than holding off the troopers while their payday was loaded up.

Which, in reality, only left him at the doorway. With a curse, Viktor falls back, thinking very unkind things about criminals who have issues with committing crimes.

Saveth stops halfway down the ladder into the gun turret, before reversing course and running down the ramp. He cracks his three-fingered knuckles and draws his modified light blaster pistol from it's holster. He approaches Victor and stands at his full height, letting a quick exhale from his nostrils ruffle the one-eyed smuggler's hair. "Watch your gender pronouns human." He then takes up position right by the door, ready to shoot or claw at stormtroopers as they come into the hanger.

Current Cargo Loaded: 8/20 Barrels in the ship

Everyone is currently at Medium Range from each other but it looks like the stormtroopers want to close.

A tense few moments only broken up by the sounds of the loader droids hurriedly trying to move as much cargo into the Nite Owl as possible before the sound of cutting began. Seconds pass and sweat drips, for those of you who sweat anyway, before a shattering blast of series of explosions blowing the door out down the corridor. You can hear the storm troopers charging down the corridor though at least it sounds like they are splitting up to take the two wings of the facility. For a fraction of a second there is silence until the crisp patter of plastoid armour clacking against the ground before two fire teams charge around the corner with a one wearing a sergeants shoulder pad bringing up the rear. The simple call of a stormtrooper voice box echoed down the corridor "THERE THEY ARE! BLAST THEM!" before all hell broke lose.

Roll Results:

[Trev has two loader bots under his control, they are pretty big and hardy things and act on his movement, just tell me what you want and they'll do their best to do it, sustained blaster fire isn't really something they can eat too well but they should cause some damage. Trev loses his free manoeuvre per turn to command the droids]
[Dalessa managed to get up on the roof but the position is poo poo and not going to be good for anything but the initial surprise. The first attack you make gets an extra Blue (Boost) dice]
[Saveth, this is a rules light system so if you want to perform suppressive fire roll a gunnery check and the better the result the bigger an impact you can make]
[Dyne sealing the door bought you some time to load more cargo up before the storm troopers busted in]
[I'm also going to assume everyone took cover who is in a position to shoot people]

Rules Chat:

[To keep it easy to read, I'm going to mention enemies who have the Adversary trait. This essentially just means they are better than your average goon enemy and as a result means you add an extra purple dice for every rating on Adversary. That storm trooper sergeant adds 3 purple dice. Bigger enemies have more adversary trait and better skills/talents/special abilities as a result]
[Low level minions and mooks like stormtroopers can operate as part of a squad. It means that the inaccurate poo poo soldiers can suddenly be very dangerous and accurate through just sheer volume of fire, they die like normal, aoes are probably better against them but the damage essentially kills one soldier off at a time]

Kneeling behind a crate, Viktor grumbles as he counts the stormtroopers; whatever this cylinder was, it had to be valuable for them to send in so many damned troopers AND an agent after it. Leaning out from behind the crate, Viktor sights in on the sergeant. Taking the leader out would probably make things a smidge bit easier. Head dies, body dies with it.

After a moment, Viktor fires, watching the blue stun bolt slam straight into the sergeant's faceplate. Inwardly, Viktor can't help but laugh, but he has a feeling that he's got the leader's attention now, which might not be the best thing.

The multiple shots hailing at the stormtroopers seemed to do little to deter them from their movement. After Dalessa blast hailed out from the open hanger doors above the Sergeant in charge of the assault readies his rifle and snaps off a shot, nailing Dalessa through the shoulder. Dropping down he begins sounding an order to one of his squads "Heavy surpression, keep their heads down and advance.." before he can even finish a follow up shot from Viktor cuts through his throat, blowing his helmet off and sending him sprawling down the ramp.

[Dalessa takes 9 damage before soak]
[Dark side point spent to upgrade stormtrooper sergeants attack]
[Stormtrooper squad gets a bonus Boost dice on their next attack]

Opening fire on the regular troopers manages to badly wound one of troopers but the squad's discipline looks like its keeping it in check. Squad 1 moves to cover and opens fire on Saveth taking the last orders they are likely to receive. The hail of fire manages to score a quick blast to Saveth's weapon, knocking it out of his hands but ultimately the hail of fire does not do much lasting harm. Squad 2 advances gets into cover in close quarters in the cargo area.

[Squad 1 disarms Saveth but fails to do damage]
[Squad 2 moves to short range and is in cover (cover adds 1 black dice to any ranged attack made to hit them)]

Charging forward the two loader bots charge through the closer storm trooper unit, the first clearing away the barrels and storage crates they were using for cover while the second begins to hurl all that brute force ordinarily saved for cargo transport against the hapless storm troopers, crushing the first one and grabbing and hurling another clean over its head scattering somewhere behind Trev's position.

He counts to three before ducking out again. He takes aim, sweat beading on his brow, and rakes the troopers with fire. Ever since the incident at Nal Hutta, Dalessa took care to think things through and at least try to keep a calm and cool demeanor as befits one of the Chiss race. Getting shot in the shoulder just like that is one of the things that break that. She wasn't used to getting hurt, a big game hunter put the maximum distance possible between her and her prey to avoid getting eviscerated. Getting shot was a recent development in her life ever since she left Chiss space, that took a lot at getting used to.

"ARGH! gently caress! You...sons of bitches! I.." She takes a deep breath and looks at her wound, it looked bad. Thankfully they were moping up them pretty well. She tries to get some cover from the fight before aiming again. Something inside her almost makes her turn off the stun setting, but even with the agonizing pain she controls herself. "No...I'm better than this." She fires a blue bolt at the conscious stormtroopers again.

Sareth dives out of cover, claws bared as he swiftly carves his way through the first stormtrooper before leaping to the next and hacking a cut straight through his armour. Dalessa backs him a up with a burst of follow up shots, easily knocking two more to the ground with her stun setting. Before the remaining two can even raise their weapons to take a shot back at Saveth, Viktor peaks up out of cover, quickly blasting blasting off two quick bursts to take down the last of them.

[Werix and Dalessa takes 1 strain damage from the threat]

The Imperial Stormtroopers seeing their other squad being cut down quickly fall back from the loaderbots before bring their guns to bear and opening fire on the behemoths, A series of successive and accurate shots to the lightly defended servos of the first quickly brings it crashing down. The squads disciplined fire shifts around and continues to spray weapons fire across to the other, bringing it down alongside the other. While the squad is distracted, Trev quickly snaps off another shot and takes down one of the troopers.

[The two loader bots have been destroyed through a crit and some good results]

Marching through to the ships hanger is another two squads of stormtroopers each with a sergeant leading the pack. In the centre of the group standing out fairly distinctly with his blue skin and hollow red orbs that a human could barely cal eyes stand a Chiss in distinctive uniform one would assume is that of an Imperial Agent.

His cold, monotone voice calls out to the stormtroopers but with enough volume to easily reach your ears. "Stun settings, I want the rebels taken alive"

The prisoner twists back to look at the rest of you as the hail of fire begins to start bursting off of the ship's hull "Your REBELS?? Goddamnit I have the worst luck in the galaxy" The rest of you begin to rush to your stations as Viktor starts the launching procedures for the Nite Owl, Trev runs to the engine room and Dalessa and Saveth take up positions on the ships guns. The prisoner slides over to the co-pilots bringing up the navigation system and sensor display like it was second nature. With a punch on a couple controls the ship bursts forth from the hanger, followed by a huge burst of electrical interference from Trev sending a giant power surge through the entire warehouse's electrical system.

Before the Nite Owl can even straighten up for a run out of the atmosphere the prisoner perks up.

"Oh poo poo, I don't know what kind of gundark nest we just stirred up but we got some angry friends, 4 TIE Fighters bearing down on us. Hope you Rebels know what your doing! At least that Star Destroyer is well out of tractor beam range."

He rakes an entire bank of switches into the same direction before focusing on individual switches and toggles, the ship's engine coming to life. When everyone is on board and Trev's shut down the electrical systems of the warehouse, Viktor takes the Owl into the sky and begins its ascent. Apparently, the prisoner was going to be his copilot, and with a shrug he slings his restraint into place.

"TIEs? That's not so bad. And for the last time, I'm not one of those rebels. I'm an Imperial citizen and I intend to remain that way." He keeps his eyes on the sky before him, though he checks the radar to verify that, yes, four TIEs are converging on him. With a grumble, he twists and pushes in an extended section of the console, and hits the radio at the same time. "Buckle in, boys, we're gunnin' it!" With that, he slams the accelerator control into position, and the ship lurches as it hits its maximum speed in a matter of moments. He grabs the controls, feeling the g-forces hit, and laughs heartily as he takes the YT-2400 into an elegant and evasive spin.

"Barf bags under the seat, bud, we're gonna hit orbit hard and blow on out. Trev, I need calculations, ASAP!"

Trev lets out a long sigh after being able to shake off pursuit. He knew the ship would have to be docked in for repairs after the combat and the forced accelerations + hyperspace jumps would not help
He takes a look at the Chiss' wound, which while gruesome would not be life threatening.
"There should be some bandages and bacta laying around. I suggest we try that at first because the other option is to start sewing."

Trev takes a look at the code cylinder, its a surprisingly sophisticated version and he knew it was going to be trouble getting into it.
"You say that now, but after this thing goes up in flames because I fail we both know everyone is blaming me for loving up"
He shrugs and attaches the cylinder to his terminal, which had so far broken into everything he had thrown at it during this mission. All luck had to run out eventually.

The prisoner now that hes well away from any angry Imperials trying to blast him out of the sky he seems to have adopted a much more relaxed posture despite the bruises of his recent interrogation still being apparent, "Hey sure thing beautiful, names Sebdav Lanfair, friends call me Seb. I got hired to smuggle a very fancy and large shipment of spice and that code cylinder right from under the imperial's noses. Just straight landed on the outskirts of one of Kessel's mines and flew off, no muss no fuss. Someone must have tipped them off though because an Imperial Star Destroyer came right for us. I made the jump to get out of there but our ship was a mess and burned fuel so we crash on Zerm and the Imperials rounded me up to await someone big and important to get me I guess. Far as I know i'm the only survivor. I thought I was a goner until a blue angel scooped me up and flew me off into the sunset that is. " Seb begins to make a move towards Dalessa before quickly clutching at his gut, his attempt at a suave movement clearly having pushed something soft and tender up against something very broken. "I might take a lie down though if we're out of danger. I'm not sure what your all planning to do but thanks for getting me out of there none the less."

As Viktor makes a move to the cargo hold something immediately feels wrong. It's difficult to put his finger on it but moving carefully through the barrels of spice Viktor unconsciously touches them one by one, they all seem locked and secured, numbering 1-20 on the outside but otherwise perfectly identical. Eventually he stops at barrel 11, it seems somehow cleaner than the others. No caked layer of spice on the outside, the seal lining up somehow more perfectly. What it is hes not sure but he pushes on the release button and the top seal opens up with a cloud of spice bursting from the barrel. Brushing away the airborn spice and covering his nose Viktor carefully pulls the barrel open. Stopping for a moment, unsure of what to do next he plunges his free hand into the barrel, reaching around for a few moments before finally bumping up against something and pulling it free. This something being a small black box, roughly the side to fit a holdout blaster or something of equal mass. Carefully flipping the small latch on it and pealing it open Viktor finds inside something far smaller than the box would be needed for sitting in a pillow of some fine velvet cloth. A small blue crystal.

Trev sits down to crack the code cylinder but it becomes quickly apparent this thing has been locked down by an expert. He tries what he can but given this isnt even following a military encoding procedure he realised its a bit out of his depth. Thinking for a moment he begins an alternative approach. Based on the file structure of the encryption and the amount of data he is able to piece together kind of information on the device. Two files, the first is obviously some kind of text dump, huge amounts of recurring encryption values so obviously a lot of spacing and newlines makes him believe this is a list of some kind. The second is stranger. From what he makes it out to be it seems to be an audiofile, values for wavelength and variable settings that could indicate sound and the like but with a huge set of metadata defining a file structure hes not familiar with and from he can guess isnt part of the audio message at all but from either the extracting or encrypting process. Either way opening it up is going to need an expert.

The Chiss nods at Trev. "Good, good. You take care of that weird cylinder and we'll do that later."

She hears the prisoner's story and a suspicion start to form in her mind, one perhaps shared by Viktor by the looks on his face. Dalessa talks to the prisoner. "Yeah you just do that, Mister Lanfair. Are you sure someone tipped them off or perhaps the spice shipment and cylinder are tracked by some device?"

Seb starts following your lead to the medical area to take a lie down, "I don't think we were being tracking and I certainly hope not then again I don't know. We got paid to not ask questions and the hutt made it clear he wanted the spice and the code cylinder pretty badly. I don't really suspect him but a third party wanting it maybe. Not sure why they would have the Imperials go after us though. My old crew ain't that hot and besides. Why not take us out when we land if they wanted to kill us. Or just take the cargo before we even arrived?"

"True enough, but you just can't predict Imperials on how they work. That Agent was a particularly nasty surprise." Dalessa tries to patch up her wound best as she can before leaving the medical area of the ship and going to check the spice shipments in the cargo hold. "Vik? You in there? Found anything yet?"

Well, fuck. Really?
Viktor

Viktor brushes the spice off of his arm back into the container; whoever was gonna use it wouldn't care. The crystal was confusing; he didn't know what drew him to it, but he somehow KNEW it was there. When Daleesa walks in, he turns, still holding the crystal with the cloth that was wrapped around it. "Yeah, I found some kinda gem, I think. It's weird.. I just kinda KNEW it was there. I walked right up to the right canister, reached in, and didn't even have to dig for it." Viktor shrugs, wrapping the gem up and putting it back in its box. "I don't know if our guest knew about this, but I'm not willing to risk him knowing. Haven't checked any of the others yet." He tucks the box under his arm and shrugs.

"I'm thinking we stick to our contract, unload 10 crates to our original employer, and then sell the rest on Nar Shadda. Might find a buyer for this gem and the guy's employer was from there, too, so..." Viktor shrugs again.

Nar Shadda. Now that was actually a place she should check out, at least to report back to her sponsors about her current situation. It wouldn't be pleasant but it probably needed to be done. "That's... that's very strange indeed Viktor. But I've heard and seen stranger things so it's probably nothing. Let me see this gem for a moment though..." After Viktor gives her the box she pulls the gem out and thinks back to all she has studied previously in her university classes back in the Chiss Ascendancy.

Saveth

Saveth climbs out from the gun turret, and just stands around looking intimidating, but also taking in information from the chatty prisoner, partially disgusted by his constant flirting with the Chiss. When he finally leaves Saveth smiles a toothy grin at Dalessa, "if you asked nicely I would gladly injure him further. I'd be doing it more for me than you, but what is the old saying of my people, two wookies with one net?"

Saveth then quickly goes to his still too cold room, and activates his personal computer with one claw press. He slowly clacks the name "Sebdav Lanfair" into it to see if there were any Guild contracts out on the man. Turning him in for a bounty would be a profitable way to do away with him and hopefully a share of the bounty would be enough to convince the others as well.
