The hutt swivels himself around to get a better look at the Chiss, trying to assess what she managed to do to get a bounty on her head before quickly dismissing any concern. "Bore'pak is a Hutt, his bounties are honoured by the Cartel. If he does not have their backing and no obvious source of wealth his bounties will be dropped and forgotten eventually. You want it gone now though and I can make it disappear quickly for a reasonable favor some time in the future. Since you all seem so happy to put your life under my watch anyway."

He turns back to Viktor, "Unload the cargo, and spend the night doing whatever you wish. I must confirm some things with this cylinder. Payment in the morning." One of Nem'ro's guards moves forward, opening a hand expectantly for the code cylinder while the hutts throne's repulsors are beginning to move him off into some other back room.

The exchange happens quickly, and Saveth was none too happy with it. Selling the spice and turning over the captive were fine, even selling that cursed data cylinder, though he'd have rather spaced the later two. But giving it to the Hutt in exchange for an undefined "Job" later did not sit well with the Trandoshan. There was no guarantee that the Hutt, or really anyone, could keep them safe from the Empire.

He wanted to berate Viktor for putting them all in the grubby hands of the Hutt so quickly, but this was not the time, it was best to present a unified front. Instead, Saveth remains silent. He knew this was all an act, and he knew his part. Though he was not some dull-witted Trandoshan Muscle, he was content with playing that part, for now.

Celebrating on Nar Shaddaa isnt the safest thing in the galaxy but its cheap and easy, not to mention having a hulking Trandoshan watching your backs tends to keep anyway of the real trouble. Getting a good night sleep and having your ship repaired, immediately followed by a pretty healthy payout and shopping for equipment does a lot to boost your mood. By the time one of Nem'ro's soldiers lets you know hes expecting to meet with you it doesn't really seem like that bad an idea. The warehouse and docking facilities have long since stopped being a makeshift celebratory hall and it seems to be rapidly returning to its former state as some kind of supply or shipping warehouse. You notice Nem'ro's throne seems to be the only remaining 'decoration' of the night before as a few of his guards, now armed to the teeth and keeping a careful watch over the warehouse with an obvious sense of tension. Nem'ro does not appear to be in any mood for pleasantries or pandering.

"Hmph. About time. I have secured an appropriate bargain for your lives I think but I do not believe you will like it. Seems I will need to call in that job immediately rather than holding it off. From what I understand the Imperials are very aggressive about the whole issue from what the rumours say. There is something big at play here but I still don't have all the pieces. So, I am going to need something more. Something they don't have and you are going to get it for me. I have acquired everything your friend Seb knew about his operation, including his codes and electronic key phrases to let you make yourselves appear very much like him. Or his replacement at least and your going to use that to break into the Spice Mines of Kessel . Once inside, you will find his contact or informant, retrieve them or anything they know and bring them to me.

Oh and Dalessa dear your bounty has been expunged though that favour you own me is going to be something we will handle later."

Well, fuck. Really?
Viktor

Viktor does not spend much of the night celebrating; he had a gut feeling Nem'ro wasn't going to let their little errand sit for very long, and so he took his pay and the two carbines they'd acquired and headed out into town to wheel and deal. He unloaded the E-11 carbines with relative ease, pocketing the credit chips for them; he fished for a weaponsmith who could rush a job for him, and when he found him, he turned over a sizable chunk of his pay to add a laser sight and a blast actuating module to the gun, making it into an oddly legal but heavy piece of iron. While the man works, he takes the time to pick out a new holster for his gun, and for the hold out he had been carrying in his pocket; hiding the holdout would do so much better for making the thing useful. He also picks up a utility belt, figuring, what the hell.

Once the gun was completed and his holsters had been purchased and donned, Viktor slipped back out into the night, taking the weaponsmith's advice to find a decent tailor, and he tosses over the last of his pay to have his clothes reinforced with subtle armor plating. Once was all said and done, Viktor walked the streets of Hutta a new man, a man ready to hit the sack and get business taken care of in the morning.

As usual, Viktor sleeps on the ship, his DL-44 blaster tucked under his pillow. When he awakens the next day, he walks down the gangplank with a yawn and a stretch, working on putting his eyepatch back on over the ruined socket it usually covers. He saw no need to look roguish when not dealing with other people. He meets up with the others, and sits through Nem'ro's spiel, before sighing. It was a good thing he'd picked up extra ammo and a new suit, it seemed.

"So who are we looking for, Nem? What's he got that we need?"

Bought a laser sight, giving me a free advantage on all already successful combat checks, as well as an actuator module to give +3 damage, +2 pierce, and one setback die on all shots. I also purchased two concealed holsters, giving the DL-44 one setback die on perception tests to spot it, and the holdout blaster 3 whopping setback die to find it, even with computers. Also picked up a utility belt, and a suit of armor that gives 1 on all defenses and 1 on soak, bringing me to 3 soak and 1 defense. :v:

Also spent my XP to buy a point of charm, Black Market Contacts, and Convincing Demeanor, which makes the target suffer a setback die to resist my charm, deception, or skullduggery.

Nem'ro waves off the questions rather dismissively, "If I knew that I would have them already. Your job will be to bring them out in the open." A guard brings out several code cylinders and hands them to whoever wants them. "These will provide you with the clearance and security codes you need to get to Kessel and be granted access to the spice mines on a very suspicious basis. You will be searched and examined carefully by the imperials but ultimately let through since your cargo is most certainly valid. You are bounty hunters after all simply there to earn a little extra by taking your target directly to their new homes. You see Bore'pak is going to quickly realise that his special shipment isn't going to make it but if he realises an opportunity to perhaps get the information out again or at least to find out what is going on he is going to take it. Thankfully a crew of bounty hunters are going to be in a prime position to take advantage of things." Nem'ro takes a movement to shove some helpless creature into his mouth as he quickly munches on it, letting the juices foam down his mouth, before resuming the conversation.

"Whether he trusts you or not is a whole different story but thankfully you will all have delivered a prisoner whom Bore'pak knows he has significant leverage over, beyond simply helping them escape. You see dear Delassa, that bounty on your head is going to be particularly useful to me and I even managed to figure out how to cash in that favour at the same time! Since talking to my new friend Seb I know he is just hired help. It is flawless, he either contacts you for working for him offering you a new job or he tries to contact Dalessa in order to leverage her to get what he wants."

Dalessa
Sheet

And there it was, out of the danger from a hutt and into the favor of another. At least a favor was better than constant bounty hunters. After that little dialogue with the slug she wanted to get smashed a little but before doing so, Dalessa realized she had gained enough creds to buy a piece of equipment she always wanted.

You can find everything you want on Nar Shaddaa as long as you have the money for it, and so was that the Chiss went to the deluxe store of Czerka Arms to get herself a customized Model 38 Sharpshooter's Rifle, to fit the exact specifications of her body size. Usually these jobs took awhile, since there were long lines of wait for the customization, but Dalessa was easy on the eyes, and with a few gentle words to the main manager and giving him a false comm address he was more than happy to bumped her to the top of the line.

After a few hours she was out of the store with her expensive sniper rifle, sure she had to sell her blaster rifle for it and was now back to being penniless but at least she could now really put predators down. At least that's what she wanted to tell herself, going by her recent activities, she would probably use it to kill a stormtrooper sergeant or whatever. With a heavy sigh she returns to the ship to have some rest before Nem'ro has to talk to them again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As she listens to Nem'ro's completely absurd plan, which heavily involves her in ways she didn't like at all! She wanted nothing more than to scream diverse profanities at the detestable and disgusting slug like him. How dare he use a being of a noble and superior race like the Chiss like this!
Instead, she bites down the urge and looks calm and confident towards the Hutt. As she discovered, Chiss had the fame of being serene and collected through the galaxy, and in dealing with a Hutt, she definitely wanted to look the part. "Ah, I see. That way you "get rid" of my bounty in a quite effortless way from your part. Clever, Nem'ro the Hutt. Very well, if this is the favor you require of me I'll do it. As long as this debt between you and me is definitely settled forever when we return successful from it!"
Dalessa hoped that after this she never had to see a Hutt ever again, with the exception of maybe through a sniper rifle scope.
Nem'ro seems quite pleased that nobody appears to be fighting him on the particularly dangerous plan. "If this goes smoothly we will have Dalessa or one of you will be infiltrating whatever network Bore'pak has set up and serve them up straight to the Imperials on a silver platter. That should not only keep you safe from them but perhaps even earn you opportunities of employment if your lucky and desperate."
For a moment, Viktor simply stands with his head bowed, brow furrowed, and his eye closed, with his arms crossed against his chest. He didn't like the majority of the plan; it put the chiss at a huge risk. He sighs, looking up at Nem'ro. "Lemme get a run on this, make sure it's straight. We are going to take Dalessa here and turn her over to the spice mines in Kessel, to make it look like we're bringing her in for Bore'pak. At some point, we're letting him know we're going to be in the vicinity of his agent with his bounty and that we're willing to bust some heads for money, and hope he fingers his agent inside of the mines, and then we bring him to you rather than to Bore'pak."
Viktor unfolds his arms and adjusts his stances, hands on his hips. "That the gist of it? We get his source, get out, and you turn that source over to the Empire, and effectively save us, screw Bore'pak, and clean Bluebell's record in one fell swoop?"
Nem'ro leans back on his throne attempting to adopt a more relaxed posture though that looks particularly overt for a giant slug. "Thats the idea. I'll let you decide when to extract yourselves though as long as you at least get me something or someone valuable enough to sick the Imperial Agent on."
A communication signal bursts through the cockpit's audio systems, "This is the Imperial Star Destroyer PREDATOR, transmit your authorization and reason for arrival or prepare to be destroyed."
The flight was smooth and uneventful, but the arrival left something to be desired. Looking over to Trev, Viktor shrugs and presses his own communications button.
"This is Captain Folly O'Mann, owner of the YT-400 dubbed Playing God. We are transporting a bounty to the spice mines, chiss female, bounty identification number, uh.." He releases the comm button and sits back, nodding to Trev.
A few moments of silence as your ship hangs underneath the giant docking port of the star destroyer before finally a return signal is broadcast through, "Your clearance checks out bounty hunter, sending flight path and landing coordinates to processing and deploying an escort wing. Divert from the prescribed path and you will be destroyed." A burst of navigation data is transmitted to your ship directing you down to an Imperial facility on the surface of Kessel. A pair of TIE fighters swing in from out of the destroyer's hanger to line up behind you, clearly primed to take out your engines the second you decide to make an unexpected course correction.
Flying closer to the imperial facility you get a good look at what appears to be a cleared path amongst the asteroid cluster constantly being maintained by a series of small tug crafts moving asteroids out of your flight lane. The base itself looks like a fortress, turbolaser batteries cover the surface and wings of TIEs sweep in on regular patrol crafts, not to mention the smaller imperial frigates dotting across the flight lane. The hard metallic compound stands out like a sore thumb across the barren rock, littered with abandoned mining operations and blast marks. Your ship flies through one of the side hangers that looks to be reserved for non-imperial transports given the mess of civilian cargo vessels and freighters not too dissimilar to your own.
The TIE fighters break off as you clear the landing bay doors in a large open hanger containing several other vessels. As your crew begins to disembark your team is greeted by a smartly dressed but very junior looking Imperial officer with an obvious look of disgust on his face at your mere presence. He flanked by a pair of stormtroopers who appear to be doing their best to pretend nobody else exists. "Well, I can take the bounty of your hands or I assume like all of your kind you want to make sure they are handed off personally hmm? If so be quick about it. I have already wasted my time preparing the paperwork."
Before the group starts the little show of Dalessa being a caught bounty, the Chiss finds Trev and shows him her recently acquired Model 38 Sharpshooter's Rifle. "Take good care of it while I'm out doing this stupidly dangerous task, would you?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Having never been a prisoner before and not particularly knowing how to act like one in front of Imperials, Dalessa opts to stay completely silent with the stoic expression typical of Chiss on her face, not even looking at her teammates, they probably knew how to handle this part of the facade better anyway.

The Imperial Officer stares blankly at Viktor for most of his song and dance but even as he attempts to remain neutral it's obvious he is put at easy that your as eager to get this over with as quickly as he is. Playing tour guide definitely isn't something he is looking forward to but from the looks of things he's just happy to have another human to talk to who isn't clad in a plasteel armour from head to toe.

He looks over to Trev as he indicates he will not be joining them. "Feel free to enjoy what the city of Kessendra has to offer. You are free to travel in and out of the Imperial compound and out into the civilian areas but are highly restricted to any Imperial facility. Any trouble you cause will be on your head."

Turning around to face Viktor again, "well then, I guess we best get to it. Follow me then." The two stormtroopers quickly move out of your way to take a position up at the far end of the column, as they depart Trev can pretty clearly see that the stormtroopers themselves seem to be operating with a little bit more competency than your usual enforcers. He is not really sure if they are on high alert or are just used to keeping prisoners in their sights at all times.

********

Viktor and Dalessa are led through the halls of the Imperial facility with very little notice from the rest of the imperials, mostly given your escort, but none the less your given a pretty clear look at this place should you ever need to make a mad dash to the exit in the future. Seems like most of this compound is dedicated to processing prisoners and keeping up supply for the prison more than anything else. Your Imperial escort, a Lt. Lim, now much more amicable thanks to talking with Viktor is all to happy to point out that outside 'city' was little more than a framework for supporting the imperial prison system beneath the surface though there was a small amount of trade and local businesses for troops on their off time. The prison itself was a network of tunnels across the planets surface mostly broken up into separate 'wings' dotted across the surface though prison travel between the wings is pretty relaxed if your willing to make the dangerous journey through the tunnels. The prisoners rarely saw the surface except for the occasional gladiatorial events that Grand Moff Bertroff Hissa, warden of the mines, was a big fan and supporter of. "They are quite impressive, pitting particular unruly prisoners against the energy spiders living on the planet or against more exotic pets the Grand Moff brings in." Lim explains.

Eventually you arrive at the processing station before 'depositing' your acquisition off into the mines themselves. It mostly consists of a several hours of waiting as the Imperial network confirms the bounty on Dalessa and approves that entire transaction with Bore'pak and whoever else is actively involved with the transaction. It seems Lim has been through this entire process a hundred times before, pulling a sabaac deck out from one of his pockets and offering you a game while Dalessa is moved off into the mines themselves.

********

Dalessa is taken away from the pristine and orderly network of imperial tunnels to the darker and dustier part of the station. Poorly maintained power systems flicker on and off as a thin coating of dirt and decay seem to coat everything the deeper you get. The two stormtroopers escorting her don't seem to pay too much attention to any of this so you can only surmise that this is situation normal. Eventually Dalessa descends to one of the transfer checkpoints, little more than a series of entry hatches designed to rapidly seal up with a blast door if needed that separates the chill of the mines and the artificial heat of the imperial facility.

The officer gives you a brief look over and dismissed the stormtroopers who are all too eager to leave. He flicks a few pages over on his data computer, likely trying to find a face to match though 'blue' is a pretty defining enough feature so it doesn't take long. He looks you up and down a few times trying to get a feel for you before reaching out behind him to grab a bag of supplies and and a heating suit. Fumbling with the bag for a few moments you notice him unbuckling one of the latches before handing it over. "Head outside and put those on quick. You'll get rounded up before too long so I would advise you have a look over all your equipment by yourself and make sure everything is in order"

********

Heading out into the streets to find the nearest dive bar isn't hard for Trev since there are only a couple. One for Imperials and one for everyone else. The bar is less than lively it is safe to say with groups or individuals scattered throughout it trying to keep themselves unheard and unnoticed. Unusual for an imperial city is the variety of races, trandoshans, twi'leks, weequay, itorians and duros. Very few look up or even notice Trev as he enters and the bartender gives him little more than a grunt in acknowledgement, just reflexively pouring a cup of whatever low grade alcohol they happen to have on tap and putting it in front of him. Looks like Trev might need to take a seat if your waiting to be found.

Sabaac was Viktor's game; he'd played it through military academy, he'd played it against himself on long flights, it was his thing.

After winning his first hand, he holds his hand up to excuse himself, and opens his comm line. "Trev, we're waiting on authorization for the transfer. Might be a bit. You could probably go on and on about all the other prisoners down here because of Bore'Pak, right?"

Saveth was not any good at this and was hoping he wasn't laying it on too thickly.

Well, fuck. Really?
Viktor

Viktor clicks his tongue and leans back, shaking his head. "Eight months. Man. I'm sorry to hear that. Don't wanna dig on what got you here, but I know how it feels. I was a security forces man myself, before I got honorably discharged. Good work, until I didn't have it anymore; it's what sent me to the guild. Can't say I have a taste for being a crook, and this lets me keep up the whole 'protect and serve' schtick without being a cop or a soldier." He looks over to Saveth and half-grins. "Though my regenerative friend here is right; you might not want to put your rear end on the line as an actual hunter, but they could use men with brains as contractors and organizers. Hell, and if you don't wanna pay dues, the Hutts are always looking for bright people." Viktor shrugs, leaning forward to gather up the sabaac cards and give them a shuffle.

"Hutts may be ruthless, hedonistic slugs, but they protect their own, if their own's doin' it for them. Guild does, too." He raps the deck against the table to straighten the cards out and cuts the deck, rifling the cards together. "Though honestly? We lucked out with Bluebell back there." He nods in the general direction of the prison itself. "Tiny here's got the datanet up and is tellin' me about a fairly reasonable bounty on a female chiss, and there I am, lookin' across the park way, listening to the description, and who other than your newest laborer is sittin' at an outdoor café, eating her sandwich and oblivious to the fact she was forty seconds away from being tackled by a trandoshan." Viktor laughs, smiling wistfully as he deals the cards out.

"Man. Good times." He sets the deck down, picking up his own cards. "Well, for us, at least. Not so much for her." While rearranging his cards to better think, he scratches at his beard. "So forgive the curiosity, but you ever had anyone get out of here before? Not just like escapes, but actually let go? Cause I can't imagine what it'd take to get some poor soul out of here."

The Lieutenant rubs his shoulder where the much larger trandoshan gave him a friendly elbow, "Bounty hunting isn't exactly my idea of a good time. Uh yeah, Bore'pak is one of a few hutts who tend to fill this place up pretty heavily though he's massively reduced his shipments of labour lately. Brought in a Miraluka girl just under a month ago and until you showed up, havn't really seen or heard much else from him. No really a surprise, seems lately the Empire has been limiting the slaves being taken here, we had a huge shipment of wookies all show up and then they got yanked off by some officer to some major construction project. Whatever, hate the carpets myself."

He begins to eye the two of you suspiciously as Viktor brings up the topic of escapes. "Nobody 'escapes' from Kessel. You get transferred out or your allowed to leave with a chain around your neck. Nothing comes for free. Getting out without being taken somewhere worse means you have to be pretty drat valuable to someone with a lot of pull. Now I've been here long enough to know when I'm being propositioned, what are you looking for?"

------------------------------------------

A military bar is definitely the kind of place that Trev feels at home. Stormtroopers, regular soldiers and even a few junior officers mill around the place, mostly half in uniform with some others in civvie clothing though everyone seems pretty familiar with each other. A few give you suspicious looks but for the most part anyone trying to hassle you figures out pretty quickly that you've been the same kind of grind they have. Even an ex-imperial gives you enough common ground. You strike up a conversation with a few of the younger troopers who are happy to hear a veterans tales of fighting droid armies and disorder across the galaxy. Anything is more interesting than the mundane life of prison security really. After a couple of hours pass, things start to wind down with what seems like the shift change. Your drinking companions depart and the bar begins to empty and slowly refill with the next rotation. Before you even have a chance to get another drink an officer blocks your path quickly taking the chance to sit across from you.

"I'm Lieutenant Moor, pleased to meet you. I heard some of your stories and wanted to have some personal time if you don't mind," He removes his cap, attempting to at least pretend to be informal even if his stiff posture make it clear informal isn't really in his vocabulary. "Now I wasn't old enough to meet many like you but I would hazard a guess that you are a clone correct? Interesting to see one of you end up as a bounty hunter. Must have been quite an interesting career change. Have many thought about that time outside of the war?"

Before she even has a chance to investigate her equipment, the large security door quickly seals Dalessa off from the exterior prison facility. Looking upwards she realises just how thin some of the atmosphere is on Kessel which isn't helped by the chill. The large prison yard is scattered with various tables and equipment, mostly discarded mining supplies, and a small gathering of 30 or so people watching the new arrival. After a few moments of awkwardness a hulking Gamorrean steps forward.

With a haughty snort from his nose he reaches out his arm to point at the bag Dalessa is holding and in some broken huttese simply utters the word "MINE"

The smuggler gives the lieutenant a queer look, before drawing another card from the deck. "Hey, take it easy, lieutenant. Just making professional chit chat. You run a supermax prison-slash-mine, whose laborers are people that guys like me capture. Just wanted to know if you ever had any amusing stories about failed escapes or weird releases, is all. I mean I know -I- have tales of chasin' down criminals who busted free, one of which involves an aqualish trying to jump out of a moving speeder to his buddy's vehicle and getting clipped mid-jump by a fuckin' courier droid." He tosses his hand down in disgust and leans back, giving the officer an appraising look. "Though, yeah, if you had an escapee you needed brought back into the fold, I'd happily get on with that." He leans over, looking at Saveth's hand now that he's out of the round, and then at the lieutenant's, keeping a poker face.

After a moment he folds his hands behind his head, watching the two continue to draw, and lets another moment of silence draw out. "Though, you know what? It sounds like you know a proposition I should be making. So I'll be honest with you." He sits back up, resting his hands on his knees as he tries to pop his back. "You and I - crap - we're both working stiffs. I wanna make some more money, you probably got poo poo you need done, or know something someone else needs done that you can take a cut on." He stretches, before settling back into his chair. "So, Lim, do you have something? Or is it just THAT weird to have an actual conversation with someone after eight months?"

The former trooper catches himself almost saluting the Lieutenant, just barely remembering he is not supposed to do that anymore. He gestures the officer to sit down
"Yes, I am one of the original troopers, from before.. budget cuts." he says bit spitefully while slightly exposing the workings of his cybernetic arm.

"Frankly, the simulators did not really prepare any of us into thinking outside of war at all. We were merely supposed to graduate, be assigned to our units with our pods and complete objectives or get shot trying. There was no real career advancement in the old Corps either, you were born a leader if they needed you to be one." Trev describes. "Bounty hunting just felt natural to me, its closest thing to soldiering a civvie can do."

Well, fuck. Really?
Been thinking on how to use that triumph, and I have an idea on it.

Basically, I want to use two thinks happen: first, Bore'pak has no credits left. Maybe a Nem'ro slicer took out his bank account, but he can't pay the bounty, which means he has to contact Dalessa to do her task to clear her bounty because the bounty hunter guild is about to come after him for non-payment after delivery. To get that cleared, he needs to give us information to help pull out his deep contact who was originally getting him the jedi data, so we can use it to find a bigger bounty.

Or something along those lines. What's everyone think?

#acolyte GM of 2013
Saveth

Seeing Viktor had the Imperial in hand, and that he had annoyed the Imperial, Saveth decided to leave, giving a small glare at the Imperial and then excusing himself. Whether or not Viktor used that racism to his advantage was up to him. Making his way through the facility back to the exit, Saveth tries to decide on where to go. He was not a creature of subterfuge, well at least verbal subterfuge.

Since this was a slave world, and bounties were often slaves, that meant a "bounty bar" must have been on the rock somewhere. Exiting the facility, he makes his way to the small "civilian" area that supports the facility. He is able to quickly find the bounty hunter bar by finding the bar with the Imperials in it, and going in the opposite direction. He enters the dingy place and quickly takes a place to himself, ordering a sufficiently strong drink so no one would challenge his credibility, but weak enough not to severely inebriate him.

Setting up under a lap for the extra energy it provides, Saveth does what a lizard does best, bask in the glow. And by glow, the lizard means conversation.

Lim waits for the Trandoshan to depart and he quickly becomes a little more comfortable."I've seen people like you before. You're an ex-Imperial I figure, maybe an junior officer like me who got dumped in some dead in situation. Thats why I figure you're the perfect people to help me out. I realised I wanted to rise in the Imperial military I needed a benefactor so I started thinking on my own. Outside the box is dangerous but required. As I said, nobody just walks out of Kessel without something tying them back here. So I go myself a mind to be the one holding the chains this time. Me and a couple other partners got a plan, you don't need to know the details. You just need to know your part. We're breaking someone out of here. I need a fast ship, a gutsy crew and no questions asked. The original plan is out thanks to a lack of time and funds so you are our escape plan. We got a... 'princess' to break free. We get her out and she'll pay us drat well. We can get her out of the prison itself, you need to make the escape itself, makes it look like an outside job. I figure you and your crewmates can find away to sabotage the hanger turbolasers and you're practically home free. Minimal security in that area outside of those guns."

------------------------------------------

Moor looks extremely tired which wouldn't be too surprising if he just came off a shift. You notice for the first time that he is a lot older than the other junior officers, most would have quit or been promoted by now. He takes a drink from a passing server and takes a few small sips of it before returning his attention to you. "Yeah. Just weapons. Maybe it was simpler when thats how things worked, I didn't enlist at the time. Though your command staff... they were different weren't they? I've heard things...rumour from a long time ago that my mother used to tell me. Were you there when..", Moor seems to struggle with the right words for even broaching the subject, "when the republic transitioned into the empire?"

------------------------------------------

Saveth decides to take a look at the non-imperial bar. It's definitely a lot less formal than what Trev is experiencing the completely disjointed mess of species, clothing and equipment is the most obvious difference. Most people have this idea that trandoshans are deaf, dumb and blind brutes. Good for hitting people and nothing much else. They never really full grasp the concept that they are hunters, built and bread to find as well as eliminate. That includes being able to take a spot at the back of a bar and simply listen, one of the most underrated skilled used to track a bounty. Conversation tone, expressions and even sweat gives a hundred different clues for a hunter to pay attention too as one would follow a trail through a forest. All it took was one hurried discussion and obviously out of place clothing set. The kind of details most would ignore but for Saveth, spotting a stormtrooper in his best attempt at looking like scoundrels trying to convince a pilot to take on some cargo before leaving in disgust. Thats a clear sign someone is about to do something, taking a few quick strides outside as the trooper hurries away down an alley, doing his best to hide his route, before running headlong into Saveth's grip. Lifting the trooper far off the ground leaving him dangling helplessly and gasping for air at the same time.

A couple of gruff questions gets him to spill pretty easily, "Oh god please don't kill me. Look I'm just trying to get something smuggled off in a hurry. If you're in for it I'll hire you. There's a prison break going down, big song and dance, we're making a big show of it to get someone out. Nobody wants to take the job since the last time someone tried they got their ship blown up and the only survivor got picked up by an Imperial Agent and disappeared. We just need one passenger off planet with a ship in all the chaos. "

Well, fuck. Really?
Viktor

Viktor leans back, his hands behind his head as he kicks his feet into Saveth's chair and listens to Lim. He is tempted to interrupt once, to correct the ex-Imperial line, but figures showing too much loyalty to the Empire might raise this man's suspicions. He lets the man continue, his brow furrowing. Nem'ro wanted someone linked to the code cylinder, and this certainly wasn't it, at least so far. It was something that could get them sold out, hardcore, and might pull intelligence back down on them..

.. but it was also a man asking them to commit high treason with hunters linked to Bore'pak. It's certainly a nice little nugget of intel that would appease the Empire if Nem'ro turned the little princess over. Viktor keeps a poker face as he goes through his thoughts, and after a moment, he sits up, leaning forward slightly. "Before I say yes, I wanna know more about this princess." He glances around and laughs, shaking his head. "I mean, you know I can't exactly say no now that you've spilled the plan, but humor me a little. Who Is she, and why is she in this dump if she can drop that many credits? Cause I got a hunch this is gonna piss off some big people, and I wanna know if the Guild is gonna back me, or if I gotta get a bigger Hutt in my corner once I'm paid up."

Lim sits back, throwing his cards onto the table as he does so. "Thats the beauty of it, none of this is permanent and you can walk away since nobody knows anything. You can't sell me out since you don't have anything on me. Who are they going to believe, the Imperial Officer or the pirate who tried to enact a rescue attempt. I feel I can pin more on you than you can pin on me. I got no idea who she is to be honest. Not my part of the plan, don't even know who else is being paid up by Bore'pak to be fair. I know I need a pilot and a ship to make this easy and I was told someone was coming that matched my needs exactly. Bore'pak wants her out, Princess is the codeword as far as I was told. I would assume you don't get poo poo but credits in your pocket. Who, what, why. I don't know or care. This is not Guild, Imperial or anything in between. I read this scenario as being entirely personal. Everyone wins."

Trev gives a sideways glance at the bar after noticing how eerily quiet it was. Most of the junior enlisted had been obviously afraid to ask about about it. The Order, Kashyyk, Jedis. Everyone had just asked about the good fights where the Republic had fought battle droids and Trandoshans. The morally ambiguous end of the war had been skirted around and alluded to, but nobody had had the gall to ask about it.

"Depending on what you've heard it could be true. If your mother told you that during the Clone Wars, when this was still a Galactic Republic, the Grand Army of the Republic fought against Confederacy of Independent Systems; you would have only heard the truth. It is also true that the Grand Army was lead by none other than The Jedi Order's Masters." he raises his voice, so that even the people acting as if they were not listening would hear. "And lastly, it is also true that the then Clone Army carried out the Order 66, the execution of the traitor Jedi."

The old trooper relaxes on his stool and takes a sip from his drink to wet his mouth. "What people usually exaggerate is how hard killing the Jedi actually was. According to after action reports from other Troopers it as if the Jedi were completely oblivious to the fact that then Senator Palpatine had learnt of their plot. Most of them were exterminated without a fight, with overall only minor losses due to the most experienced warriors in their ranks. After Kashyyk and Mustafar the war was essentially over, the Seps collapsed into themselves and the impotent Senate was abolished." Trev lectures, imitating the tone he had heard on the training lectures. "Good times, even got to see what Vader looked before.. you know"

Moor swirls his drink a little before realising the little left in the dirty glass probably wasn't worth the effort before placing it down and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "Must have been difficult, taking out the people you fought alongside with. At least they're all gone now... You're not an imperial any more though just a soldier without a war. Though Lord Vader... I didn't know he was anything else outside of that suit. Not that I've ever met him or anything thankfully." He leans in closer, trying to be a lot quieter than he was before, "Who...was he?"

Moor seems a little downtrodden by the answer, looking again at his drink and the ring of condensation that had formed around it and beginning to play with it absent-minded for a few moments , "Well, I suppose that explains his temperament. Couldn't have been easy for anyone during that time period." His face is mostly expressionless but you notice that he is drawing something ring of condensation, cutting two holes in it with his fingers so that the ring is now starting to look like a bird or ship of some kind. When he notices you looking at him he quickly swipes the coaster across and picks up his drink before standing up. "Well thank you for the story, makes for a better time than most on this rock. Good luck to you soldier."

He drops his drink off at the bar, dons his officers cap and quickly departs out the door a little faster than you would expect of someone who was as tired as he was acting.
