40 years ago the largest private sector employer was GM and people had awesome wages. Today the largest private sector employer is Wal-Mart and wages suck. Truth be told, it's not that I necessarily disagree with any of this stuff, but it's just stuff those of us living in the information age have known for about a decade so it just adds to the noise of Facebook.
