Saw the movie and loved it. However I was confused about what happened in the beginning in 1997 Middle East. Did the guy they were interrogating have a grenade and Eggy's father sacrificed his life to save everybody?
Yes.

This movie is the most accurate potrayal of Mark Millar comic books that's ever been put to screen.

The funny thing is that a bunch of massively significant things were changed from the original comic.

E: Notable examples: there's no Land of Hope and Glory scene in the comic, and no princess either.

The difference is that the people siding with SLJ's character are not evil 1%ers. The people identified in league with him are guys like Obama, a climate change scientist and the swedish prime minister.
And the US Military, and several of the Kingsmen.

I laughed alot and enjoyed the movie. Some of you are way too loving serious about this stuff. It must be really terrible to not be able to sit and enjoy a silly movie without finding some sort of hidden meaning and analyzing every little loving scene.

Class warfare isn't a subtly hidden meaning in Kingsman, it's the literal plot.
