You could attribute it to Tom Hall leaving idk but i think that the Doom engine is just singularly bad at anything that isn't "hell warehouse" and Doom 2 literally at one point attempts to take place in the suburbs

I really like Dead Simple & Tricks and Traps in spite of everything
