Tucker and Dale owned because it was a great parody of horror movies but never fell into the "I'm a genius who write quirky original characters" trap like Whendon movies.

It's a bad movie since the foundation of the premise is actually good horror movies. Here's a 101 cool monsters from movies which are better than the cerebral quirk-a-thon you are watching now.
