They should have gotten Wes Anderson to direct. He's great at long form narratives and also at adapting boring books. Additionally, he could have pulled it off as a period piece where most other directors couldn't. Really any director would have been an improvement over whichever people they picked. Maybe if they'd chosen their directors based on talent as opposed to ideological purity they might have at least made a decent sci-fi film. As it was, I'm not sure Part III even had a director, I think everyone just showed up and did their own thing.

my brother complained that there should be more conservative movies instead of just atlas shrugged that true i mean imagine if the karate kid was about johnny lawrence and how he beats up daniel larusso all the time and johnny gets more skilled and stronger all the time and eventually beats daniel to death with his bare hands while his friends cheer him on his involvement is covered up by local political ties and eventually a black kid is convicted of the murder later he goes on to a successful career and gets away with many rapes each successively more violent johnny is the celebrated hero of this movie later we played conservative monopoly which is like regular monopoly except nobody gets to stop playing just because they lose all their money ever gary oldmans diary fucked around with this message at 13:48 on Mar 9, 2015 |

Atlas Shrugged should have been given to Paul Verhoeven so we could have a Starship Troopers-style film that shits all over its own source material deliberately and also has coed shower scenes.

PV was my second choice. Though I'd pretty much be happy if Verhoven directed anything at this point. He was a visionary action director and a national treasure. If you're reading this, Paul, please come back to us.

Speaking of action, how the gently caress do they leave out the scene where Francisco D'Anconia is dual wielding pistols, mowing down rioters from a bell tower while Rearden Steelworks burns around him?

Seriously it and the death ray would have been the best parts of the movie and they leave out both of them.

Atlas shrugged was dogshit but my favorite part were the limo rides. I probably only noticed this because of how many low budget poo poo shows ive been in like a good portion of that film is spent watching various rich people in different limos dole out exposition before they got to the one restaurant they had clearance to film in. Anyway all the rich people in the movie used the same limo that they obviously only rented for a day, because it has a giant like 12 cd changer above the back seat with it's brand visible and everything. That's continuity/set dec 101 ya'll.

Applewhite posted:PV was my second choice. Good news! "When Michelle, the CEO of a gaming software company, is attacked in her home by an unknown assailant, she refuses to let it alter her precisely ordered life. She manages crises involving her 75-year-old sex kitten mother, her imprisoned mass murderer father, her spoiled and immature son, her ex-husband and her lover, all with the same icy equanimity. This is the approach she brings to the situation when it appears that her assailant is not finished with her. As the mysterious stalker hovers in the shadows of her life, taunting her, Michelle cooly stalks him back. What emerges between Michelle and her stalker is a kind of game, a game that soon spirals out of control. " I have the feeling I will love this movie.

The whole film should be less about utilitarianism with industrial and train business undertones and more trains with utilitarian undertones. It would really help bootstrap all those autists

I always found it amusing that the 'conservative film' movement suffers from the same delusion as the 'christian fundamentalist film' movement: both think their viewpoints are a) severely underrepresented by Hollywood and b) are shared by a vast majority of the populace, so of course this movie will break box office records. Upon release, even though their core demographic sees the cut-rate film 5 times to support the cause, box office results still inexplicably show a tiny fraction of anticipated ticket sales, befuddling everyone involved. So let's double down and remake Atlas Shrugged with Kirk Cameron.
