You won't need to worry if you have a 386 or above (make sure you press the turbo button on the case) but if you're not up to date this works really well

A lot of games used the CPU clock cycle for their timing or something like that, so if you didn't hit the turbo button and cut your HZ in half, the game would be playing at 2x speed. I remember I had a 2D animation program that I had to use the turbo button on my 486 because it would render the finished products too fast.

I'll come out and say that I always found Doom pretty boring, even back when it was new. Never really got far into it. Both of them. Something about the whole presentation just didn't click with me. Duke3D on the other hand, I think I played that a million times. Especially in LAN.

In Shadow Warrior if you get killed and your head is just laying around, Instead of respawning you can puke blood and if you manage to kill anyone like that, you gain no frags but it subtracts a frag from your target.
