And the upcoming Puzzle & Dragons: Mario Edition is coming to 3DS, and is literally just hit cellphone game Puzzle & Dragons with Mario characters and whatever. Here's a suggestion for Nintendo: Make a regular console (no motion controls or "gamepad" poo poo) with specs that actually compete with current generation consoles. Maybe then your brand won't be a joke anymore to everyone except children.

Plus it's hardly news. "Game console manufacturer announces vague plans to manufacture game console" is not going to surprise anyone. Nintendo realizing that smart phones exist is actually pretty wild although in retrospect was probably inevitable once they worked out that whole "internet" thing.

If nintendo does what square does now they will make a killing porting old JRPGs to iOS. The World Ends With You is like $20 and it was in the top grossing apps section for a few months which means they were making a few million a week. why do people care about specs of a console? all that matters is the quality of the games. the specs of the Wii U compared to the PS4/xbone aren't keeping it from getting good games, it is still getting consistently better exclusives.
