This has been a really odd winter in Wisconsin. It didn't snow that much - there were a few large storms in Dec-Jan - but it never thawed so there was always snow cover. We also had a lot of that bitter cold; -20s with -40s wind chill. Then all of a sudden about a week and a half ago it's 50-60 degrees and really nice. No rain at all, just really nice sunny days, and all the snow melted quickly. This is the earliest spring I can remember here. Last year we had about a week of spring.
