It's super expensive and super slow compared to almost every single other country on earth duders. I called Comcast seeing what they could offer my business as currently I'm on a 10mb/s that I haven't upgraded for years, and they offered me 100mb/s for $150 (and that was after coming down from $180). I told him I pay less than that for my internet connection at home and he said 'well yeah it's more expensive for commercial' and when I asked why he said 'well we give better customer service on those accounts.' lol When I go traveling people in developing countries laugh when I tell them what's up because they get faster internet for cheaper. My friend in S. Korea has 100mb up and down and pays $34 USD a month. S. Korea is about to roll out 10GB/s speeds for cheaper than my 10mb/s. And meanwhile Verizon and AT&T are kicking and screaming because the FCC wants to institute a 10MB/s minimum connection. loving assholes. Oh and of course when you buy a certain speed you don't ever loving get it here because lol peak hours lol we throttle lol we are unregulated while other countries have written internet access in to their bill of rights. Seriously, what the gently caress America? We're losing a technological and competitive edge because ISPs are allowed to price gouge and do whatever the gently caress they want and have monopolies. Nobody seems to give a poo poo even though it is probably directly impacting our economy.

But it's not like the government of S Korea is running the ISPs. It's not like we spent so much on the F35 that AT&T and Comcast can't afford better infrastructure. Yeah you can download your show in 5-10 mins but other countries can download the same show but in super high definition in the same amount of time. So the end result is either the USA gets left behind (not likely) or improvements to data stagnate because everything has to be kept under a certain data size to be practical. Second, your prices are going up. poo poo isn't getting cheaper, at best prices stay the same while quality of service suffers. So yeah you take 8 minutes to download instead of 4, but you're also paying 4x as much. We pay more for slower speeds. Average dl rate in the USA is 20mb/s, putting us behind Germany, Russia, the UK, France, Japan, Switzerland, S. Korea, Romania, Singapore, Hong Kong, and many others.
