This morning my wife had to get up earlier than usual to go to an appointment, so I thought it would be nice to make her breakfast so she could sleep in a little bit longer. I threw together a quick omelet with bacon and some vegetables I had left over in the fridge. I also chopped up a jalapeno and put it in there, washed my hands with soap and water then sat down with her and ate breakfast. I have to use the patient advocate in Albuquerque for my clinic and they have been beyond worthless every time I've tried to get some help. The most they have done for me is when I'm done telling them my problem they transfer me to some other office that isn't able to help. I've pretty much given up trying to get any treatment at my local VA and just use tricare to see a real doctor that is only 30 miles away as opposed to the 60+ for the VA clinic.

My first doctor I had was loving amazing. That's part of why he's now the director of medicine at some small med school in Alabama. He was a funny older guy who had two vet sons and a daughter in law school. We would just shoot the poo poo and he would transcribe everything using dragon natural speaking because he hated typing. New guy doesn't give a gently caress, doesn't know who I am, and has basically ignored me for months on end. Unfortunately, I don't qualify for the choice program for basic service because the clinic is here in town. I can use it for any outside service, but I have to get him to make a loving appointment, which is next to impossible for some reason.

The VA doc I got right after getting out way cool as poo poo. Six months later, I got a letter saying she left to pursue "other opportunities," which I can only assume meant "private sector." I don't even know who the gently caress my doc is supposed to be now. Time to start bothering the OEF coordinator so that I can maybe-kinda-sorta-almost get that sleep study done.

Ugh. Went through the wake last night, funeral today. We were lucky that we were able to get everything done before Holy Thursday/Good Friday/Easter. Wakes are pretty loving horrible, nothing like standing for 4 hours while friends and relatives walk up to you in line crying and telling you how sorry they are.

Back when I did ER security there was this nam vet cop who would show up at like 6 am at the beginning of his shift to get the free coffee in the EMT room and hang out. He was at our desk and we were just bullshitting about nothing and somehow Palin came up. My buddy said he didnt really like Palin and she seemed kind of dumb. Nothing really bad just that. This guy just goes ape poo poo and starts yelling profanity about it, like in the middle of the ER. "WHO THE gently caress ARE YOU THAT YOU THINK YOURE SO loving SMART???" and so on So me and my buddy ducked out of there and left the morning crew to deal with that.
