i would say the most damning thing about esports is that their fans get desperate for some sense of legitimacy. i do get into esports sometimes(not watching any currently) but i don't see why i should care if the public at large is interested, it's not like there's a lack of content or players.

I understand the "lol nerds" response, but if that's your angle you'd better be in a varsity letter jacket posting on your way to football practice. Fat nerds making GBS threads on other fat nerds for being good at something is a bad look.

If I can't break a down to its bare repetitive min max mechanics and play the only correct way that puts me at an advantage compared to any other option to the point where the game becomes simple muscle memory its not competitive.

every pro sport is an esport. they are simply using a different controller to manipulate graphics on a screen to get a higher score than the other team. a videoed game is a video game.

Too many games have rules outside the game parameters like "you can't snipe on the bridge" that expose that the games weren't meant to be serious competitions. Mobas don't do that afaik but mobas don't need help being boring.

eSports are boring because the career-ending injuries are carpel tunnel and deep vein thrombosis as opposed to broken necks and general vegetablism.

I believe you meant to type "gamers" Counter strike pro gaming would be a hell of a lot more interesting if they played random map rotations instead of only Dust 2 so that way teams would have to adapt to the maps on the fly and the matches had more depth than whackamole with A,B, and mid runs.

Because you can't overtrain for eSports, to be the best you p much have to train 16 hours a day every day so eventually even if you are one of the like 20 guys on earth making mad bank you realize it's not worth it

do these electronic sports team have training sessions? what do they train? map layouts? do the tournaments have special unseen maps just for the tournament? because that would actually show legitimate skills and tactics instead of hiding behind a door on a map they've been playing since 1998

Do they think athletes just run a few scrimmages every day and that's enough to stay in peak conditions? Fuckin chobos
