I have gotten "high" a few times and I have never really been impressed. I have smoked "kind" bud and "mexican brick" weed, neither did the trick. Just felt kinda anxious and paranoid, never even got "the munchies". Can some explain the appeal of smoking weed?

i think the consciousness-altering effects of weed are preferable over the consciousness-altering effects of alcohol and i like that, unlike alcoholic beverages, weed when smoked has zero calories. i assume i'd have more friends and a richer social life if i enjoyed alcohol to the extent that i enjoy weed, but i feel like i'd rather be a non-fat weed smoker with few if any friends than be a fat alcohol drinker with lots of friends. i'm oversimplifying this, obviously.
