I like where this is going. When you operate on the barrier between to separate a meat-based mind and a Maelstrom-based mind, roll +Weird and deal 1-harm ap to both minds and separate them. 10+ choose 1, 7-9 choose 1 and the MC chooses 1. -You deal an additional 1-harm ap brain to both minds. -The Maelstrom-mind leaves a more serious scar than you intended on the meat-mind - Neither mind emits a psychic, attention-getting scream -etc

As for the custom move discussion, I like both Bear Enthusiast's and Captain Foo's suggestions better than mine, so I have attempted to combine them. To wit: When you use your psychic might to force a Maelstrom-entity out of another's psyche, roll +Weird. On a hit, the entity is forced out of its host. On a 10+ choose 2, on a 7-9 choose 1 and the MC chooses 1: -The host-mind takes 1-harm AP in psychic backlash -The entity doesn't take anything with it on its way out -The entity is prevented from taking another host...for now -The entity holds a grudge against either party -The entity leaves behind a useful bit of information -The entity leaves a more serious scar than you intended on the host-mind ... does this look reasonable?

Yeah you're right. I'd intended them to be similarly brutal but the numbers didn't work out like I thought. Either one would need a little tweaking anyways.

So yeah, I think its time to admit that I don't really have the energy/mindframe to give GoldBay the attention it deserves. It sucks 'cause y'all are great and I've enjoyed the game immensely, but I don't want to string everyone along with increasingly sporadic and sparse updates. I'm really glad that y'all enjoyed the ride, and I'm flabbergasted but happy that we had regular readers. I had a blast tooling around the shambling corpse of San Franscico with you. It was also an excellent learning experience, and if 2016 is a bit calmer I hope to be back with a new game.
