I think you can forgive us this year, at least. When was the last team to go undefeated into the final four? Been a while.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has declared for the draft. Gonna miss that shimmy. Brandon Ashley is up next, apparently he would rather go overseas/D-league than have to keep going to classes for another year. No way is he getting drafted. Stanley Johnson is somehow still waffling but can't imagine he would come back despite being a lottery pick. Kaleb Tarczewski supposedly is leaning toward coming back for his senior year at this point. He probably should, he's a fringe second rounder at this point.

The fact that you had 4 other guys who can't score I'm sure the defenses would clog the lane up so much that everyone would be shooting 18 footers with 2 seconds on the shot clock. I don't think people realize how bad it hurts your team when you have ONE player that's a liability on ONE end of the floor. 3/5 would be an issue on both ends.

Arizona power forward Brandon Ashley declares for the draft. It's probably the best for him, since he's not likely to improve his draft stock, but he's still a second-rounder. Stanley Johnson is next, which would leave Tarczewski as the sole returning starter (unless he leaves for the draft too!). Tennessee hired Rick Barnes. It's cool to goon on Rick Barnes because he is clueless, but honestly, the Tennessee Basketball Quagmire wasn't about to bring in Gregg Marshall or Shaka Smart, so I'm waffling between disappointed and resigned. It's the best we could have done, I think.

Rick Barnes is a good coach, he's just not the top-tier coach his talent level needed. He's been to two elite eights and a final four. Tennessee got a good coach. He can beat anybody in the regular season. For the longest time Bill Self couldn't get past the elite eight level either. You never know.

NickRoweFillea posted:Tennessee hired Rick Barnes. Rick Barnes will be great for y'all and was probably the best available coach for you guys to hire. Word of caution though-- he coaches with an annoyingly strong iron fist during games by yanking players immediately if they turn it over or take a bad shot. It doesn't matter if they were on a roll before the turnover, they're getting pulled out. It's also extremely easy to get into his doghouse. Every player will end up there at some point and they'll inexplicably sit out for a game or two at a time. The "Horns havoc" thing shouldn't come as a surprise. If there's a way to make money off of something, Patterson and the athletic department will squeeze every last penny out of it.

K-State lost about 95% of it's scoring from this past season. So.....bottom of the big 12 for a season then Weber gets fired is my prediction. Thomas Gipson, Nino Williams - graduated Marcus Foster, Tre Harris - kicked off team Jevon Thomas, Nigel Johnson - transfer Congrats on whoever picks up Foster, assuming he doesn't keep trending downward which I don't think he will.
