suppose you had a time machine and could travel to august 1st, 1939. you can murder hitler in his sleep and then return to the present day. however, the timeline will be permanently altered upon your immediate return. assume that hitler's immediate successor would not carry on the war without him. however, all other outcomes are unclear. maybe you end up with the plot of red alert, maybe not. do you kill him?
