I never saw children of men back when everyone was cumming over it, still haven't, don't expect much. I was like this with the godfather though, then I watched it like a year ago figuring I'd fall asleep but hoooooooo boy did I enjoy parts I and II

People liked Children of Men because the climax was the dude running through a war zone in one uninterrupted take.

Is this the same reason people like Old Boy because of the hammer scene? I like Old Boy, but I feel like cinematics freaks play the movie up just because of that one scene.

I just realized that I've seen, like, five movies from the '70s. How is it possible to be such a bitchmade failure.SweetKarma posted:Have you seen the sequel "Aliens"? If you liked Alien you should like that one too. No, but it's next on my list.

Probably. Also, it's probably a testament to how great of a movie Hard Boiled is cause there is a 5 minute uninterrupted take of a gun fight but it's brought up in relation to lots of other great scenes and not the sole stand out shot. What I am saying is, everyone please go watch Hard Boiled.

The Goonies, the Harry Potter movies, and the Pirates of the Carribean movies. Seemed like gay poo poo for annoying screaming little kids. My childhood was spent watching 80s and 90s action classics like Terminator and Total Recall. I never enjoyed kids movies even as a kid.

I haven't seen The Godfather and I don't really want too, but I'll get around to watching it someday because I know it's referenced a lotSweetKarma posted:I watched that movie a few years ago because I thought I would try and become some sort of classic movie buff or something. I didn't get it. Maybe it was great for its time, but it was pretty boring to me. Casablanca has the latter two going for it. It's the classic "same old story," and thousands of people were scrambling for travel papers to flee the Nazis. In fact a lot of the smaller roles were played by actual refugees. e: There's a lot of old Hollywood movies that are really good, but can seem boring if you don't know how to pick up on their innuendo. It's easy to miss if you're not familiar with how certain things were implied. Absolute Lithops fucked around with this message at 07:54 on Apr 12, 2015 |

i have never seen planet of the apes and i don't really want to because all of the actors back then did stage type acting in movies where they hammed it up and overdramatized everything and i don't like it. i told a room full of nerds this last night and they got mad at me.

That sounds reasonable. I wasn't really paying attention, so if someone could spoil the end of it for me, did the predator win? He seemed legit.

I'm trying my best to remember the end of that movie. IIRC the humans teamed up with the predators to hunt down the aliens, but I can't remember.I'm not really interested in the Aliens vs. Predator mythos.
