I think for the most part tribes have been thoroughly exploited by the powers that be. Tribal lands are being destroyed by coal mining. Casinos designed to give incomes to native families are owned by white men. The federal government needs to acknowledge the natives as one of two groups of people who didn't come to America seeking a better way of life.
