Three to four years ago, my buddy DrDinousaur and I made an LP about the most embarrassing game possible. It was about barely clothed anime women running around killing zombies and turning into vampires when they got covered in too much blood. It was trashy, stupid, and not really deep enough to justify the amount of time I put into it. But I still played through it because the world needed to know what happens when you play Samurai Warriors while tripping on a mix of LSD and Cialis that should probably be illegal. There have since been several sequels to the game in question, which I will not bother with due to various reasons such as regional lockout and deep moral convictions against repeatedly shaking a Wiimote for hours at a time while there are half-naked anime women on the screen. Then I found out that they made a PS4 game, and the PS4 has built-in streaming. Also, there's the fact that I'm a goon, which means there's no limit on how low I will stoop just to get a cheap laugh. Basically, I decided to import the game and play it blind. This is not a big deal, because it's not like the story matters and I have a decent grasp on the controls thanks to the last game I played. Somehow, the game's production values have gone through the roof which leads to cool stuff like gameplay that's actually smooth and boss fights where you get to slam dunk on some fool's skull. Basically, about an hour into the game this happened and I fell in love:  Join us in this plunge into the depths of of insanity, because I'm fairly sure this goes far further than the weirdness that Onechanbara Bikini Samurai Squad ever did. Enjoy the ride as we do our best to talk about anything but the game at hand and fail. Or don't. Actually, it's better if you don't. Also, this should probably go without saying, but while this game isn't technically NSFW, you probably shouldn't be watching this if you don't want your boss to give you weird looks. Or don't watch them around respectable company. You know what? Just don't watch them at all if you have even a shred of self-respect. THREAD RULES: - No weird, creepy poo poo in the thread. The videos already toe the line of what's socially acceptable. Nobody needs to make things even worse in here. - No trash talking Windjammers. This has nothing to do with Onechanbara, but neither does the LP. Also, the thread rule list would look stupid with only one rule. - I'm going to finish Shining Force 3. Shut the gently caress up. Meet The Cast  Renegade is not this character's name, but we're calling her that. She's the main character or something. Jason is the name of the chainsaw that some character carries around. She uses a chainsaw and fisticuffs and therefore is the coolest character in the game. Cowboy Hat and a feather boa used to be this character's signature style. Now that Renegade wears them too, this character no longer has any defining traits. Saki is awesome enough that she gets to be called her actual name. She could suplex zombies in Bikini Samurai Squad, and I'm currently figuring out how to do it in this game. Misery is the coolest character in the series. I'm hoping this thread will result in people lobbying EA Games to put her in the next NBA Jam. My PS4 controller sometimes yells at me to protest the fact that I'm playing this game. It does this with the voice of a robotic Japanese woman. Room 231 was a seriously good documentary, especially the guy who was adamant that Kubrick didn't fake the moon landings, but that The Shining was him somehow saying 'but this is how I would've done it if I had'. It oddly works as a companion piece to The Shining if you think it's a movie about obsession (one of the saner ideas that, oddly enough, doesn't really get a mention in the doc). Also, the Witchblade comparison was an apt one, since there was a Witchblade anime that featured outfits basically identical to that in-game transformation.

You may writhe in pain all you want, but keep this thread safe for work. Also it just came to my attention that the sync on our commentary is slightly off. I don't know if I'll fix this for the first video, but I'll adjust it for the rest.

So, a while back I discovered that there is a live action movie loosely based on this series. Naturally, like any impaired person, I bought it immediately. Turns out, it's fairly exploitation-free, save her costume. It has some actual plot, and a couple of characters that I actually really liked. And it's all... serious.

This looks like exactly the game Drakengard 3 was trying to make fun of when they made the main character into a murder-obsessed super magic lady who gets a supermode when she is covered in enough blood.

Oh hey I remember this game series. Mostly because I tried to follow it when you guys did the first one but your hiatuses kinda killed me. I'm watching them back now actually and oh hey what do you know, at least one of the episodes got muted for copyright, aka the dumbest prevention method.
