Back in the 50s my grandmother was a math teacher. Whenever a kid had detention she would make them solve 12 to the 12th power long hand, showing all the work. They could leave then they finished the problem correctly. She even had a bracelet that had 1212 engraved on it. edit: the answer is 8,916,100,448,256
