I was curious about the episode titling scheme this season.

(For those who hadn't been noticing: All of the S1 episode titles were quotes from Charles Darwin, and all of the S2 titles were quotes from Francis Bacon.)

The two episode titles released so far are:
S3E1: "The Weight of This Combination"
S3E2: "Transitory Sacrifices of Crisis"

Google says both of those are taken from Dwight Eisenhower's farewell address, which is the one famous for coining the term "Military-Industrial Complex."

Fits with the theme this season!

I know the episode was pretty bloated as-is, but it was pretty surprising that nobody brought up the young clone from the end of last season. That would seem to be a pretty important revelation.

In the S2 finale, Michelle Forbes' character introduced Sarah to a kid clone who was roughly Kira's age.

It's probably not important yet but then again the "previously on OB" segment had some stuff we didn't see touched on this week.

Is it just me or did they almost double down on more conspiracies? I still don't think I understand who controls who exactly. I thought Michelle Forbes' character was overseeing Dyad. But then they bring in "Top-Side" as another big player that I guess is even more in charge and can just order the female clones to be put down?

Still not entirely sure what the male clone side of everything is doing exactly. Suppose it's intentional for now, but having come out of season 2 where the mythology got really confusing and all over the place with codenames, some clarity would've been nice.

Quite the opposite actually. It's what Delphine blackmails Ferdinand with. She mentions something about him "having the gall to flush Dyad money down the drain". It seems like just Rachel making a power play with Ferdinand to wipe out the clones.

I might be forgetting any pertinent details from S2 (probably not?) but I got the impression "Helsinki" was another moment where the female clones became self-aware, and Top-Side or whoever is in charge, shut it all down by killing everyone. Seems like Rachael was planning for it since it was happening anyway, but she probably wanted some more (Kira, a cure, etc.) before it happened.

The Castor side is a little weird and non-existent right now to me. Maybe in the coming weeks they'll show what it's about.

Alison running for office is probably enough to keep me watching. There is nothing as vicious as the infighting over trivial issues in suburban municipal elections.
