That was kinda great. If we're gonna go out, it should be hilariously ridiculous and to a team that never looked that good against us til we dropped to 9 men every time! The refs getting a police escort was the best part.

highme posted:So, did anyone see if Dempsey spit on the ref? A couple of folks who I have full faith in being completely honest mentioned it on Twitter, but I was busy playing with my puppy after the Gaston flop & missed it. No, I'm hearing it was that he tore the ref's book in two. The truth is probably more boring, he probably called him a loving oval office or something.

Seattle's fans have pretty much enjoyed this more than any loss in their history, so I'm not sure what the melting down is. Does the TA get a travel ban for bringing flares into Starfire, is my question.

Crazy Ted posted:11,500 or so at the Cosmos game, which is awfully impressive considering that it's a midweek game at an NASL stadium with a short sales window. It looked like there was a good amount of NYCFCFCFC fans there. I want to hate the Cosmos but honestly, their marketing juggernaut or something is effective. Also there's something about Raul playing in the NASL that tickles me.

And here whatshisname the LA fan told me that there was nothing else coming for Dempsey. There's a small decrease in satisfaction in saying I TOLD YOU SO, when it's your own player, of course.

foobardog posted:Eh, if he cares enough to get punished for something stupid, he cares enough to play, probably. Like I can definitely see him not caring too much about the early games, but if Seattle was getting close to winning the Open Cup, I'm sure he'd want to be part of it. I expect that dude to serve his suspension in the stands like a good boy. Not out fishing.
