It's because a SJW isn't an actual warrior for social justice, it's a sarcastic term meaning someone whose only contribution to human equality is getting angry about how people use words on the internet. But then it got co-opted by actual racists and sexists so that it means "person who is justifiably angry that I went out of my way to offend them with my actual regressive opinions".
