the recipe: 8 liters of water 5 dl of brown sugar 6 dl of white sugar 1/4th of a teaspoon of yeast 3 lemons, both the juice and the peel bring a few liters of water to a boil and pour it over the sugar into a large pot or bucket and stir until the sugar melts. add the rest of the water. you want the whole thing to be lukewarm. add the yeast to a small amount of mead and then mix it up with the rest. add the lemon, both juice and the peel. let it ferment for 24 hours, add some raisins and bottle it in plastic bottles. drink once the raising rise to the surface. the longer you let it ferment the more alcohol you get so if you want to get drunk on mead let it ferment for a few days. might want to add more yeast idk. you can also add honey or ginger or herbs or whatever. cheap and delicious, much better than commercial soft drinks.

Mead (/ˈmiːd/; archaic and dialectal "medd"; from Old English "meodu"[1]) is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops.[2][3][4] (Hops act as a preservative and produce a bitter, beer-like flavor.) The alcoholic content of mead may range from about 8% ABV[5] to more than 20%. The defining characteristic of mead is that the majority of the beverage's fermentable sugar is derived from honey.[6] It may be still, carbonated, or naturally sparkling; and it may be dry, semi-sweet, or sweet.[7]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sima_(mead) Sima was originally mead, an alcoholic beverage produced by brewing a solution of honey and water. Nowadays the honey is usually replaced mostly or entirely by different kinds of sugar and there is only a very low alcohol content due to limited fermentation. Sima's ingredients include lemon, active dry yeast, and raisins. Sugar is added as brown sugar, white sugar, honey or some combination of them. Hops are also called for in some recipes. The concoction of water and the lemon and sugars are mixed, boiled, and cooled to room temperature. The yeast is added and the mixture left to stand overnight. Then it is carefully decanted into bottles and a few raisins are added to each bottle. we've been drinking mead for thousands of years which is why the recipe has some variation.
