Only six days in and I'm at 15,000 of my 30,000 word goal. If things go as planned I'll be at 20,000 words this weekend, then 30,000 by next weekend. I'll probably vastly overshoot my modest goal of 30,000. Grats on everyone shooting for 4k...loving lol

I'm up to 8,500 words now. I started writing something new so 5,000 words are from that. It's a lot simpler to write, much less meditative and with a lot more action than Emotions in Space. I just transferred the 5,000 words I have to my Nook (the Nook was free.) I spotted a lot of clunky prose but some things flowed well, and I feel like I'm hitting a mostly good balance between characterisation and action.

I've surpassed 20k on my toxx. Huzzah and all that. 15.5k on my new novel, 3.5k on my abandoned novel, 2k done on my short story. I want to hit 30k in my novel and finish my short story by the end of the month, but I'm not going to toxx for it.

If you include the blurbs I wrote, I'm over 30k for this month (three published shorts). I'll probably get close to 60k by the end of the month, but I only toxxed for 30k and am not re-toxxing this month.

Additions to main novel-ish project:  .A bit of fun, on the side:  (someone had asked on a writing subforum for "20 to 30 short stories" for free, for A Project They are Doing. I whipped one up in about 25 minutes and put a "You Can't Use This Unless You Pay Me" watermark on it.) Would be interested in catching up on other people's projects via IRC sometime if a date can be arranged.

I've way overshot my 20k goal. I thought I'd be happy happy with 20k by the end of the month. Now I want to hit at least 45k. I'm on 33k at the moment. This is spread between: 20k Vampire Novel 3k Emotions in Space (Abandoned.) 2k Vampire Origin Short Story 8k Dive Bar Super Romance (All written today and yesterday, so I am pleased. Ideally I'll have another Super Romance by next weekend, and another few thousand in my vampire novel. A weekend of partying with a friend before he gets married in a few months may scupper my plans.

The core concept of the ending was the one dude spawning an entire cult based around some idealistic return to perfect unity while the other spaceship was like "gently caress it, let's get to work making the world a better place now" and making that super apparent without being preachy is hard in a limited word count. Brevity is my weakness.
