You definitely get smaller, if you go to the options things when you enter your name, you can turn the size number on I noticed it going down at a regular pace at around 500 size, that's about as big as I got. Seems like around there you can just keep up maintenance by eating the little things, but you have to be eating other players pretty regularly to actually be gaining.
