Tacos predate sandwiches by centuries, possibly millennia. If anything sandwiches are a type of taco. Taco primacy.

most recipes are pretty boring white stay at home milf style but if you narrow it down to kraft singles it gets good again http://www.kraftcanada.com/recipes/mountains-forest-sandwich-111440 and more proof that being constructed with a hot dog bun does not rule it out as a sandwich

on the other hand http://www.kraftcanada.com/recipes/taco-sandwich-119407 Tasty and zest, and easy to prepare. Attractive colors just add to the taste. Change it up with different types of ham, different flavors of Singles and different dressings, or Kraft Sandwich Spread. One little sandwich, so much inspiration! -Shalryn, 2013

A taco is not a sandwich, but a sandwich is a taco. Like how a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle isn't a square. Let us all take a minute to brush up on our food properties here. Edit: Thinking about it a bit more, a sandwich is like two tacos together.

as i said earlier definitions are useful in their utility and i always go back and think if you ask someone for a taco and they came back with a ham and swiss on rye you would be like "WTF? this is not what i asked for" regardless of pedantic technicalities.
