This is something which has always bothered me, but I've never seen anyone else talk about : The Red Pill and other similar bullshit sociological garbage which promote how men and women "should" act (or do act) based on their "natural" gender roles are inherently homophobic. For those who are not acquainted: The Red Pill is a """"philosophy"""", mostly developed and discussed on the subreddit with the same name, about how men and women can have successful relationships. The name is derived from The Matrix, where Neo is presented with taking either the blue pill (reject the truth of the matrix and remain trapped in a fantasy) or the red pill (accept the truth and escape the matrix for the real world). It's named after the red pill in the movie because it's some kind of truth-to-power poo poo about how men and women (mostly men) are being lied to by liberals and feminists about how to act in relationships. To help express this, TRP has its own hosed up glossary of terms with obvious terms such as "Alpha" (socially dominant; a man desirable to women) and "Beta" (weak pussy who women can push around), and more terms like "Cock Carousel" (time when women exploit their bodies to gently caress as many men as possible because that's how they all act, stops in their late 20's because women after that are ugly and they know it), and "Hamster" (women thinking about how to express themselves, usually to justify their illogical actions).

The crux of the philosophy is this: The "truth" about men and women is that all women crave a strong alpha man, someone who doesn't show emotion and plays hard-ball with everything (especially with sex and money), and women will keep sleeping around with different men until they find their alpha. If women sleep with betas, men who respect women (both emotionally and with decision making) and express their emotions openly, the women will be unhappy and unsatisfied with the relationship because the man isn't strong enough to provide them with direction/an authority figure in life. Essentially, second wave feminism ruined everything by telling men that it's okay to be vulnerable in public and respect the wills women, and it's the primary reason people in relationships are so unhappy today (higher divorce rate, etc.). Women don't know what they want, or don't want to admit what they actually crave in a relationship, and it's up to the real men to show them. Even if women say differently and seem unhappy with how men treat them, they're just testing you to see how strong you really are, and if you're weak with them they'll cheat on you/leave you for a real alpha who they can't resist/dominate. I think you can already see how stupid this is, and how it was obviously written by socially-inept morons trying to give each other confidence and coach each other on how to get laid with women.

While sexism in The Red Pill is obvious and has been written about extensively (the idea women stop being attractive after their 20's, being manipulative, etc.), there's another aspect to this philosophy not talked about : It's homophobic. Men and women who aren't attracted to the opposite sex don't factor into TRP at all. A man is supposed to act strong to get a woman, but what if that man isn't attracted to women? How do women act when they're attracted to each other and can't get a strong alpha male to run their lives? If TRP were true, lesbian relationships would be extremely unhappy and unstable because the women in them would never find the dominant personality they crave. While this could be solved by having one woman be "alpha" and the other be normal, this also violates TRP because the women who act strong would be unhappy by not fulfilling their primal/natural urge as a woman to be dominated. The same goes for men: Gay relationships would be chaotic and unhappy because the men would try to dominate each other and would only work if one of the men decides to be a "beta" to the other man. The beta man would be unhappy though as he wouldn't be fulfilling his natural/primal urge as a man to dominate. By saying that men and women are only happy in relationships by fulfilling the natural urges/roles associated with their respective genders, this implies that being happy when not fulfilling these natural urges/roles in a relationship is unnatural. By extension, homosexuality is unnatural because people can't fulfill their natural gender roles/urges in homosexual relationships.

I think this is something which refutes TRP and all other similar philosophies/sociological paradigms/psychological theories. While many Red-Pillers always have their stupid loving anecdotes about how TRP is real and how well it works (notice how there aren't any real scientific studies or analyses to back up their claims about gender roles and happiness), this uses their own bullshit philosophy against itself to show it can't be true. Well, unless you do believe homosexuality is unnatural, which wouldn't be very surprising considering how conservative the average Red-Piller is. TRP community hasn't really addressed this point at all besides creating an LGBT Red Pill subreddit, but it's a complete joke: It only has about 500 people (very small compared to 110,000 on the main RP subreddit and other gay subreddits such as /r/Gaybros with about 52,000 people), and people post very infrequently there. If TRP was real/true, it would appeal equally to gay men/women because it would help them realize why they're so unhappy with themselves and their relationships. (it's because they're gay)
